Hoping for closer games today...

First round of A tournament:

Winners 29 Losers 3

The first round of AA has to have closer games, right?!?! I hope I don't sit through 3 blowouts today (The Hemantown - Virginia game was good)! The only game that has a potential would be the Minnetonka game.

One of the best days of the year today!

It's not one of them, it is the best!

Tourney time is the greatest!

AA state tourney is a little more balanced than A so they "should" be closer games (im saying two blowouts Tonka and Edina) the semis for A might be decent, now that the crap teams are out of the way

The Breck over New Ulm blowout was expected by everybody - the only surprise was that it took so long for Breck to score. I had the over/under at 2 minutes.

I was surprised and disappointed that Lourdes did not do better against Warroad, thought they were a better team than what they showed last night. Or maybe Warroad is a lot better than expected....

On paper all of the AA games should be good ones, except Minnetonka-Lakeville which could get ugly. If they seeded all 8 teams this is the type of opening day matchup you'd get every year.

In the 4 years since we started seeding, there has yet to be a 1st round upset in A. AA? Entirely different story. On my way to the X right now...let the fun begin!

Well.. I think adding to the blowouts is that one player or one line is so superior, it's hard to stop.

Breck has the Fulton line, Warroad with Nelson, Mahtomedi with Marshall, Zurn and Adams. The best game??.. each team had a star player that neutralized each other in Hendrickson and Krause, with the star Krause getting the game winner.

And yes, the depth of the Twin Cities schools will show on the top 6, 7 teams in AA.

I believe the seeded teams are 7-5 in the quarterfinals in 3 years so far. Should be 3 good games today.
