Has any of the Sections posted who made it to Phase II? When do they find out?

Each section is different, and I think they get posted on the Minnesota Hockey website when done.

The website is
www.minnesotahockey.org
The players moving on are usually posted within a week of the final day of phase 1.
I tried the link today, and it wasn't working properly....

Initially they didn't get enough players....they must be looking to fill out the roster before posting it.

Still no 6A/AA rosters yet as of last night?

All sections are now posted, looks like they pulled in some alternates from other sections into section 6 and others.
Does anyone know if they charge a gate fee to watch the games?

Yes...and because this subject tends to be a source of aggravation for the parents who have already written a couple of checks… let's just leave it at that.

What about the cost of apparel?

Its not mandatory but its tough to attend and not buy another sweatshirt or sweats that are so enticingly set out next to the ticket booth.

Writing checks and playing hockey go hand in hand, don't they??

Any idea about the cost of the gate fee, bringing some guests and just need an idea of the fee.

I can't remember the fee last year but I don't think it was cheap. For some reason, I was thinking $20-$25 for a weekend pass but I could be wrong.

This is wrong on so many levels. Might as well put up a sign that says "Parents, thanks for all you do for Minny Hockey...now grab your ankles one more time"

I couldn't agree with you more. It's not only the significant cost to the families, but the politics that go into choosing players by having coaches evaluate their own players instead of moving to a different section to evaluate; the fact that kids don't necesarily compete against their grade peers; and the signifigance placed on "making it." It is even worse for the 15s as they have at least one additional layer, the Mankato camp. And when all is said and done, only 3 MN kids make the U18 team -- something wrong with this picture. I am so glad my daughter is too old for this nonsense. I leave it all behind with a bitter taste in my mouth. I hope others have a better experience.

Well lets see. So far we've all paid a minimum of -
$40 - USA Hockey
$70 - Phase 1
$125 - Phase 2 Festival
That's in addition to the travel, time off work, hotels for festival weekends if distance is an issue.
Now we'll be asked to pay another $??.00 to walk into an arena for evaluators to watch our kids play.
Then if they player is fortunate enough to be selected for the next phase, we can spend another $125.00 for phase 3...
I'm starting to recognize possible reasons participation may be decreasing in some of these programs..
Let's hope there are no spectating fees in Plymouth. I'm sure there will be some interesting posts if there are..
