Heard there was a little controversy during the game, on the ice and the bench concerning the boys in orange. I wonder if any parents who witnessed can fill us in on the details.

Anyone know what went on with the 97 Machine and Chicago Young Americans?
The website said the Machine beat them in early round game 3-0 but then lost to them 3-0 in quarterfinals. What went on? Anyone know?

I finally got to see the Machine for the first time in Chi-Town. It was the 2000 Machine. I saw two games. One against ImpactHC from WI and the other against the Manitoba Lightning. Got to see more of the Lightning game than the Impact game. Machine won both games. I thought the Machine were the better team in the Impact game from what I did see and I thought the Lightning were the better team in that game. Machine won in a SO against the Lightning but the Lightning were better all three periods and they dominated OT when you had to go 4on4 and then 3on3 in 2OT. My guesstimate is Lightning outshot the Machine 10-2 in the OT periods. The Machine goalie was incredible though, won the game for them IMO. That said, it was definitely fast paced hockey for the age group. My first experience watching them after hearing so much about them on this board.
