99 Northern Wings skate with the Machine?

Sounds like the Machine took the Wings lightly. Is this the case? I am curious about this game if anyone was there.

Wings are a decent team but the way everyone raves about the Machine I am shocked the score was tied going into the 3rd and the Machine won by only 2 goals. Machine beat the stars by 5 and the Stars are more talented than the Wings overall.

Anyone have any info about this game?

It's a pretty good idea to not take any of the Wings teams lightly. Pretty solid teams, and they are certainly able to bring the physical aspect of the game!

Was at both the Lake Superior Stars and Northern Wings games against the Machine. Looked like the Machine were a different team when they played the Wings. Wonder if the Stars wore them down? Anyone else there?

Agreed.......... do not take the Wings lightly. They practice 1 weekend a year and they show up and compete. They can play with most any team
they play year in and year out.

More about the Machine than the Wings

More of a comment about the Machine than the Wings. They beat the Wings by a large margin last year so I guess I'm wondering if the Wings took this large of a step forward or did the Stars wear them down.

I heard the Stars game was a very physical game, so that may be the case.

I just want to hear from people that were there. I also heard the shots were definately in favor of the Machine so maybe the goalie was hot too.

Hey Cities coach, was the Stars game more physical?

I heard that the Wings picked up a Blades player and a few metro players including thier goalie. I guess this must have helped them because they are normaly two lines deep.

I am by no means saying the Wings are a bad team, they are definately a quality team but they did get killed by the Machine last year so you have to wonder what changes they made to take such a huge step. I know they had a goalie fill in for this tournament.

A 2nd and 3rd place finish......I like to see the Northern teams representing the Northland so well!!

Great job Wings and Stars!
