99 Machine won over the Monopoly 6 to 1. Monopoly skated well, not quite as deep as the Machine. Congrats to the Monopoly coaches to get them that far with a newer team.

'01 Wings won over Stars... Went to OT, then to a shootout. Two pretty evenly matched teams.

They seem to be finding their way to the finals at this age quite a bit, but can't seem to win one yet. Yes I have a kid in there program and would really like to see them succeed. In talking to a 99' parent it sounds like they have been in the finals in the last 3 invite tournament but lost in the first 2 to the Blades and Today vs. the machine. it seems like that is a tough next step. Good luck to them they are doing something right.

The website says that the Stars lost the semis to Torspo and it was Torspo - Wings in the champ

'01 championship was Wings vs. Stars. Torspo lost to the Stars in the semis, and beat the Stealth in the 3rd place game.

What would possess a coach, manager, or parent to put a child on the ice that is too old for the age group?

Greed or Ignorance
What would you need to be ignorant about - when your child was born? You're looking at the brackets or the team room TVs in the lobby and you see 98, 98, 98, 98, but you send your 97 into the locker room anyway. These kids are not being raised in a tar paper shack in rural Arkansas. If someone from another team points out how old the kid is, I'm pretty sure mom knows, as well.

94 tourney had some top notch teams playing with some of the best 94's in the state competing. Fast, physical games with some outstanding talent on all the teams. Iowa Jr Blackhawks (all Minnesota kids I believe) were outstanding. Could probably beat a LOT of High School A Varsity teams, they were that good.........Icemen played ok.......Phit teams also played ok..........just a lot of talent on all teams......pretty impressive.....

Ignorance is bliss...if you truly believe...it's not a lie

So what 98 teams dressed a 97?

98 - 97 was being used in an illustrative manner only. I heard that a player was caught at the S&S, and the team was stripped of those wins; I also heard that a player was caught in the Indy and continued to play anyway.

I will agree on the Waterloo 94's. Very good team, and also had some 95's on team.

I was most impressed with the 94 blackhawks and the 95 ITR. The ITR team was loaded with a pair of Shattuck's top 95's - was a treat to watch from a viewers standpoint. Overall the talent level for all three levels of this tournament was incredible.

Anyone know what 97 Bauer Vapor did wrong in Indy Cup in the 3rd place game they were up by 5 goals and a few players were removed from Vapor's Bench... Vapor ended up losing.

I knew they brought in some (4-5 blades helmet stickers) Blades kids, but if they were 97's who cares... Other than the kids\Parents that are paying Bauer Vapor... and not getting regular shifts or not brought to the games at all...

I don't think they did anything wrong. They got a few soft goals early but they were up against a tough Torspo team that refused to pack it in ... 6-5 final ... was a good game
