Bloomington Jefferson

It appears that Jefferson's new coach is Mark Stephan, a pretty serious coach who lead really good Edina teams. What does this mean for Jefferson? Their record was pretty bleak last season, but half their team are 9th & 10th graders, so they'll have a couple years under Stephan. If anyone knows how their youth hockey program is doing, it'd help.

So, how's it going to go; how much will they improve? And will it happen soon or is this a long-term approach Mark has to wait out? Maybe as a side question, does a high school coach (especially a new one like Mark Stephan) involve himself in the youth hockey program to help feed the High School?

Good luck to the Jefferson girls and Mark Stephan.

Bloomington's youth girls' are co-oped with Kennedy. They've had a solid program from what I've seen from outside. They have good teams, not great, well-coached, usually physical. Since they play with the powerhouses in D6 they get good competition from U10 all the way up through U14. Bloomington has always produced good players, but whether they go to school at Jefferson or Kennedy is the question (like everywhere else). Remember the EP teams that were stocked with Bloomington girls? They also end up at Holy Angels and BSM among other places.
