Lourdes won in the championship game 3-2 in a very tough game. I thought Bemidji was a strong team with 2 players that where awfully rough.
Yes it's a tough game but the refs where letting these guys take long runs at players and one has a concussion on a very late hit that I would call as a charge. Lourdes hung on after getting up 3-1 late, missed a chance at an empty net and then the Beavers scored to go 3-2 but good D keep them away from scoring.
1st game with Grand Rapids was 7-5 but that's after being down 5-2, scored 3 goals in about 2 min and went on to win.
I thought the Lourdes Marshall game was 4-1. This I thought was the best of the 3 games I saw, fast paced, hard play very good game overall.
Lourdes had a freshmen goalie come in midgame and for a young man he hung in there. Hiemer played well in Net.
In reply to wblhockey fan from what I gather the southside metro stars had alot of AHA kids beyond that I didn't recognize a lot of names from the rosters some here and there. Labote looked very good. Serratore?? as well.
Overall good games and good competetion.

Grand Rapids was minus their starting goalie...Dom G. Also missing most of their varsity players lost to baseball for the summer. Agreed....Lourdes, Marshall game was very good.

wblfan, just 3 games, you win you move on you lose and go to consolation side of the bracket. Pretty much HS rules. It's just a summer event for HS teams but some also mix and match so not sure how that part works. I think most are varsity players, few young ones scattered in I suppose. Good summer play though.
I think there are others that do the same. Eagan has teams playing this weekend, Lourdes will be in Redwing Thur. night and Eagan Friday night and 2 on sat. Sunday depends on how you do I guess.

I attended this game and I thought it was a fairly hard hitting game, but i do not recall anyone getting a concussion. Was this on the check from behind in the corner?..

multisync, No that would have been another nasty shot.
The hit came at the blueline along the boards on the stand side of the rink, right in front of the ref as well. The lourdes kid was out the rest of the game and went to the locker room. No actual diagnosis at the game but he was dingy and head hurt so pretty sure he had a concussion according to dad or at least feared thats what it was.
