NEWTON FULLER (MPLS 11)- Very crafty skater, competitive, was in the Advanced 16's this summer.
ZACH AUSTIN (MPLS 11)- smart player
ALEC KELLY (MPLS 12) The Kelly combo will put up big numbers, Lucia camp
JACK KELLY (MPLS 12)
HUNTER MISKA (North Branch 10) Proved himself to be the best 15 year old goalie in the state. Getting D-1 looks, USA Advanced team, Alaska Anchorage scout was at two five am practices watching the Miska boys.
CALVIN MISKA (North Branch 11) Has a motor that won't quit, Advanced 16 program this summer.
MICHAEL SANTA BRIGIDA (North Branch 12) Great hands
TOMMY TOOHEY (North Branch 12) Big kid that can score
JOSH CISAR (Moose Lake 11)
ZACH CISAR (Moose Lake 12) I think they had five Cisars on the team last year.
JOE ENGELHART (Burnett County Blizzard 11) This kid is high scoring and fun to watch. Might be hearing this kids name after high school
PATRICK MARTIN (Mora 12) Playing juniors before the high school season, hard nosed grinder.
MICHAEL HUMPHREY (Mora 12) Playmaker

MPLS- Looks like the clear cut leader

MORA- Bring back most of their talent from last year

NORTH BRANCH- They have a few great players, many untested kids that will be filling holes.

MOOSE LAKE- Good balance of players, they just reload with Cisars

BURNETT BLIZZARD- Good talent, but at times get one dimensional.

PINE CITY- Rebuilding

LEGACY CHRISTIAN- Might take some lumps this year

Where does Becker/Big Lake fit into that... I heard that they're joining, too.

I'm guessing ur from NB?

I don't think Minneapolis is the favorite... well at least not clear cut. Those 4 players r good, I agree, but you need more that 4 players to win and who knows how well they'll play as a team considering they were rivals for the last however many years. i do appreciate the detailed response tho

Most of these kids played together on Peewee and Bantam teams. They are all friends and won't miss a beat. Unfortunately, Newton Fuller broke his collar bone in an Elite D game and is out until mid-December. Too bad as he was going to have a good year playing with a good group of kids and he will have to wait until mid-to late December to come around.

just to clarify there are only 4 cisars on the moose lake team this year.
Zach Cisar (12)
Josh Cisar (11)
Jake Cisar (11)
Tyler Cisar (10)

how it will play out

1. Blizzard
2. Minneapolis
3. Moose Lake
4. North Branch
5. Mora
6. Legacy
7. Pine City
8. Becker

1. Blizzard - have Engelhart and some great young talent. They had a group of freshmen last year that will have a full year under their belt. Should be solid for a couple years to come as long as the young kids grow up to potential
2. Minneapolis - If you combine two decent teams, you are bound to get a good team. They have the the alec bros and when fuller comes back he will help. But do they have a goaltender?
3. Moose Lake - Bring back their giant goaltender, and have the Cisar boys to lead the scoring punch. They lost a couple of big names last year including the foreign exchange student and a great coach.
4. North Branch - Lost arguably their top player. I believe he won the conference player of the year. They return a good goalie and some high flying forwards. D will be a question
5. Mora - a solid defensive team last year, but lost their goalie and are turning to a freshman I believe? Not much for an offensive punch
6. Legacy - a private school so it is only a matter of time until they recruit the right kids to start winning the conference
7. Pine City - I believe someone said this already, but they are rebuilding. New coach, lost a lot of players due to lack of committment. Will take their bumps this year.
8. Becker - Growing team, has struggled in the past. With pulling from that many kids, they should have some hockey players coming up soon. I believe they have a good goalie who could sneek them a few games this year.

Although a private school, I'm not sure Legacy will get that status that other private schools has. With transfer rules now, it is hard for a new school to work their way up to the pre-existing private school programs that have built a foundation on winning that makes kids want to go to those schools. Not saying they won't, it will just be hard, also because they are a bit farther north.

u think 8-17 and 9-16 is decent? i think that's pretty bad. so wat happens when u combine two bad teams...? the blizzard have freshman but what have they contributed so far? There are freshman everywhere and in the future it may help but if they're not better than the competition's current seniors and juniors then it doesn't matter. mora brings back their top 6 scorers, top 2 forward lines, and 3 of 4 d. i think that's more of a punch than anyone else has and their goalie is a junior who had a save % of .942 in 4 games last year.

1. Mora
2. Minneapolis
3. Blizzard
4. Moose Lake
5. North Branch
6. Pine City
7. Becker
8. Legacy

Decent compared to their competition. I think East beat North Branch twice last year who tied for second in conference. West played a couple teams tough. And I said the blizzard had a group of freshmen last year, that woul make them sophmores this year

Minneapolis was a combined 8-16 last year in conference play, not including the games against each other obviously. that's the exact same competition compared to everyone else in the conference. my point is still the same about the freshmen/sophomores.. it may help in the future with their experience, but it doesn't matter right now if they're not better than other teams' juniors and seniors. it's not like a team gets double the points for a goal by an underclassman

Like it or not, there are 4 teams that will finish ahead of Mora this year.
Minneapolis, North Branch, Moose Lake, and the Blizzard. Mora will finish 5 and there will be a wash from 6-8.

NOPE

Legacy will probably never recruit kids for their hockey team. its a little private school located in andover. they average a graduating class of less than 90 a year.

haha you kids are funny. First off, I am pretty sure that it was two different people that said Moose Lake will be a sleeper, and that made the ratings on what they thought the two rivers conference would end up like.....go back and look.
Also how can you put Mora ahead of the Blizzard when they shut mora out last year with those freshmen. (Yeah those freshmen that are not any better then anyones juniors or seniors.) They return all four of their all-conference winners including their goalie. Still say it will be a four team race. Minneapolis, North Branch, Moose Lake, and the Blizzard. Mora will place 5th. and Pine, Legacy, and Becker will bring up the rear...

Mora also scored 3 goals against them in the other game. mora outshot them the game that they did get shut out and both goal scorers from that game graduated... aside from that i am talking about all of this year, not just one game from last year.
I don't know why you are so against Mora? they finished top half last year and return almost all of that team. how would they possibly slip to 5th?
