Wouldn't really say that. Rau was quite amazing; very quick, seemed to always be in the right place at the right time, nice shot. Glad to know he'll be a Gopher.

I got there after the 1st. Eden Prairie hit the pipe in both the 2nd and 3rd and also had a disallowed goal in the 2nd; looked like the EP player was in the crease? The better team definitely won in my opinion though.

Eagan has a very good transition game in both directions and was quite good on defense, but I wasn't impress with their offense.

Eden Prairie was very good with the puck in Eagan's end. It really seemed as though these kids have been playing together for years; many passes on each possession as players were moving, seemed to know where their teammates would be.

I would not be surprised to see these two playing at the X in March.

Is Eagan's lineup really as Big as they have on Hockey Hub? Only 3 players or so under 6', that size takes away a lot of space.

How dumb is the guy who posts the summaries in the Strib? Second EP game in a row where he uses only the first initial of each team. When Eden Prairie is playing Edina or Eagan that's not very descriptive.

They did have a couple guys that were quite big. I wasn't like "wow, those guys are big or anything" but they did seem to be overall bigger than EP.

I don't know that I agree with this. From seeing these two play, I didn't see anything to say EP was way better. They are amazing passers but beyond that they didn't do much to impress me. It would probably be 5 apiece.

And that 100% backs up my point. EP was much quicker, and the only way Eagan could slow them down was to take penalties.

I would agree with that, but there are 3 guys that have not played together because of injuries. They will get the lines straight and hopefully they will play with more heart. I didn't see that the last 2 games. It's marathon, not a sprint.

Sorry but Eagan overall was as speedy as EP or more but NOT any less ... they were also much more physical which shows they can play both styles of play where EP didnt show that...and dont worry GFD, got it all under control....so far..

And Eagan displayed that team speed almost entirely in their own end in periods 2 & 3. I'll give you that they are the physically superior team. Be happy with the win!

Mark my word, Eagan will be a force to reckon with come playoff time and I wouldn't want to be playing against them......they are a very physical and quick team. They are very good at throwing teams off their game style and as we saw let it get to the Eagles and almost the Hornets. Pretty fun team to watch.

We all know EP is still the superior team. If you've watched EP at all this year outside of this game you know this was their worst game by far. Eagan is a good team but won't compete with the top few in the state come the end of the season. Eagan lost to LV north and EP played a bad game down their and still won by 3. Nobody in the Prairie should be concerned.

What EP needs to work on is simply taking better shots and actually finishing. Their goals aren't where they should be considering their shot totals. It's funny that HHF says that Eagan is as fast if not faster than EP cause, well, they're not. EP is the fastest team in the state bar none. Every kid can fly and idk if HHF actually watched this game but EP flew by Eagan. That's why the penalties were 8-4. The eagles just need to finish thier chances.

While I would agree with you that EP is fast, the bar none statement is really over the top as there are several teams that are as quick.

I did see the game, all of it, and Eagan spent most of the 2nd period in their end yes because they took some penalties. These were not because EP was faster it's what comes with playing a physical style of hockey. It's a joke if you honestly think EP is faster than Eagan. I will call it even if it makes you sleep better at night but by no means is EP faster. And come seasons end Eagan will be a team to reckon with for ANY team out there. I am not trying to take anything away from EP, they are a great team, but give Eagan their due, and quit with the loss to LVN, they dominated every aspect of the game except an excellent performance by the goalie. Nuff said...

If I'm not mistaken didn't EP double up Eagan in the shots? Statistically you could make the same arguement in the LVN Eagan game. Don't call one a fluke and the other realistic...the truth likely lies somewhere in the middle. Eagan is going to be a contender in the section but before HHF gets to carried away he should realize that this group of kids has always shown great potential but has never been able to quite get over the hump at any level. Time will tell.
