Hermantown is the last team left in the state without a loss. Are they for real? Who has the best shot of knocking them off?

It's so easy to forget about a tie (when convenient), but technically they are undefeated. And yes, the tie vs. Thief River was for real....

Comments like this get brought up every year when people mention undefeated teams. Why? Undefeated means they have yet to have someone to defeat them. Hermantown hasn't. Period. Would I like a system where there were no ties? Yes. But there are ties. Hermantown is undefeated. Just like Blaine was the last in AA.

I'd say that beating a team who's only other loss is to EP by the same margin is quite good. Good luck against the Eagles!

They are for 'real' but they will lose to EP before Cloquet gets their chance to beat them. Cloquet leads the conference and has more depth and EP will beat them by at least 5.

Because the term undefeated seems too strong and lofty for teams that have ties - Especially teams that play a weaker schedule. A tie, although not a loss, is a still a sign of "not enough strength to win". It's like saying, hey we're good, but we can't "git 'er dun" against you guys so let's just shake and walk away with no real definitive answer as to who was better. Unbeaten seems a bit softer and more appropriate for teams with no losses, but a tie (or multiple).

Oh yeah... and good luck against the Eagles. You're going to need it.

Its one thing when the underdog ties a top ranked team, go ahead, claim that as a victory or at least you can say that you did not lose. But if a top ranked team who is the favorite ties a unranked team, its kind of hard to boast that you are undefeated.

I'm pretty sure the Hermantown coach views his teams tie vs. Thief River as a loss....

Cloquet and Hermantown are tied for the conference. And Rapids beat Cloquet by 3 goals and Hermantown beat Rapids by 4. Thats a 7 goal difference...good luck with that.

Can anyone tell me the rescheduled date and time of the Eden Prairie-Hermantown game? I do not see it on the mshsl.org website.

Thanks!

Herm vs EP rescheduled for Feb 1 -- not sure of time, however.

....or an embarrassment. But anything can happen at any time and there is noone that does not have bad days -- so really. Who cares?!!!!! Obviously they are a good team. I am sure that they have moved on! If you are TRF, good for you. But I would hope that all the teams are looking at the games ahead of them rather than focusing on the past.

I suspect it'll be EP, CEC or STA.

They mean the exact same thing. I don't know why they "seem" different to you besides the fact that they're different words?
