State Tournament Seeding

My Guess
#1: Minnetonka
#2: Edina
#3: Lakeville South
#4: Hill-Murray
Coon Rapids has a better record than Hill-Murray but no where near the strength of schedule. But it wouldn't be all that surprising if CR was given the 4th seed...

According to KRACH Coon Rapids did have a tougher strength of schedule - 16th vs. 40th for Hill-Murray.

If they consider this plus the slightly better record they could award Coon Rapids the 4th seed. However if they give more weight to Hill-Murray's very impressive wins over highly ranked White Bear Lake and Roseville in sections (which I believe they should) then Hill-Murray should get the 4th seed IMO. We'll find out shortly!

Goes to show what a check it by eye by a fan of one of the teams results in. It will be interesting to see...

For SOS it is important to note that the strength (or weakness) of a section can skew the data for the most recent calculation. To look just at the Regular Season SOS, see:
http://www.bgoski.com/KRACH_SOS_20110209.htm (end of regular season)
Coon Rapids 15th
Hill Murray 44th
Not sure, but I'm guessing HM regular season SOS takes a hit more than CR based on relative conference strengths. I didn't look at this in detail though.

Guess so. HM's non-conference schedule can't be argued. They played everybody in the top 10 although they didn't beat a lot of them.
Class A seedings are out...
#2 Breck vs New Ulm
#3 SSP vs Hutchinson
#1 Warroad vs Alexandria
#4 Eveleth-Gilbert vs Red Wing

Coon Rapids has won there last 8 games - 13 of the last 14 and have been ranked ahead of HM the whole time so how can HM pass them now?

CR beat Roseville when they were ranked 5th

Well KRACH had HM ahead, but no matter. CR got the #4 seed...
Matchups are:
#2 Edina vs Rosemount
#3 Lakeville South vs Hill-Murray
#1 Minnetonka vs Elk River
#4 Coon Rapids vs North Wright County
Hill did beat Lakeville South once this year without Hannah Brandt playing, so they certainly have a chance to win the quarterfinal...

Think Semi's and Finals. I'm not 100% sure though...

Where are the games played? Do A and AA play at same site?

This truly is a year where seeding may be irrelevant. Look at Section 4 AA… any of the top 4 teams could have claimed the top seed. Case in point... the 4th seed won and no one could in all sincerity say it was an upset.
This year...hands down... Tonka and Edina are clearly the teams to beat. So if there is to be an upset this year some team will probably have to beat them both.
Good luck to all.
I cccaan't believe I'm stating this, but...Go Pioneers!

If the Krach ratings are to be considered, the tougher side of the Bracket is Edina(2), Rosemount(9), Lakeville South(4) and Hill Murray (8) . On the other side is Minnetonka(1), Coon Rapids(7), North Wright County(17) and Elk River(19).

As far as televising, in the past the semi finals and the championship games were televised for A and AA. All first round games are at Xcel. Losers of the first round go to Ridder to play for the Consolation championship of each level. Losers of the first round of the Ridder Consolation Championship games are done and only get 2 games.

Also it appears you can watch the quarterfinal games for both A and AA online here:

Schedule is here:

I stumbled across this when accessing today's State high kick dance competition from Target Center (my niece is in it and I promised my sister I would watch <yawn>).

There is a short registration process after which you can access and view anytime. There was no cost for the dance competition but I'm not sure about the first round of girls hockey.

Any chance Fox sports north will have any games? If not does anyone have a link to a web cast for those of us out of the television viewing area?

I wish they would seed the top 16 teams 1-16. Then take those 16 teams and spread the 1 and 2 seeds around to the 8 different sections. Then insert the geographical seeds. This tournament is starting to be a joke with all the blowouts like last year. Especially Class A. Pretty soon channel 45 is going to say “forget broadcasting this”. At least then if some teams with a weak line up get in, they had to beat top team to get there. I don’t believe any team would complain about traveling a little to get the best teams at the tournament. Of course then there would be the complaint that it’s the same teams every year. But at least they are the best teams.
