2011 VFW Bantam A Region Brackets

VFW 4th District

1. Mounds View vs
8. North St. Paul

4. White Bear Lake vs
5. Cottage Grove

2. Highland vs
7. Sibley Area

3. Roseville vs
6. Tartan

Games start on March 9th and are on the 9th, 11th, 12th and wrap up with the Championship at 1pm on the 13th

Tournament will be held at Highland Arena in St Paul

VFW 9th District Results

Roseau won the 9th District with a 7-1, penalty filled game. They will represent the 9th district in Moorhead, with Moorhead being the second team as the host team.

FL plays Centennial March 11 @ Elk River.

Actually, Roseau won this game 6-1 (not 7-1) over EGF.

7th district kicked off last night. Any updates?

how does the VFW tourney work? How do you qualify? Are all teams elegible?

In a nutshell, the state is broken into 9 districts (not to be confused with MH districts). Every VFW sponsored bantam team is eligible to enter their district tournament. Winners go to the VFW state tournament. The host team gets an auto-bid, making 10 teams in total.

Yes, the VFW regions are held the weekend between the MH Regions and MH state tournament. Then the VFW state is held the week following the MH state tournament

winners play at 130 sunday

Msp or St. Louis Park 7
Rogers 2
I could be off a tad on this but msp did win

elk vs st louis park and blaine and centennial today in semi
north metro and rogers
forest lake and kennedy on consolation side today

Yes, Elk River won 5-3, but it was really early. Looks like both teams have improved this season and should be a good game.

Elk River vs Blaine in Championship tomorrow.

Elks Beat a tough SLP team 2-1 in double OT, and Blaine beat Centennial (not sure of score).

Elk River 5 , Blaine, 1.

Good game. Both teams are pretty close in talent. Blaine's #5 got injured but should be ok for the tourney next weekend.
