Which one are you more surprised by?

Personally, its the lakeville game by a very slim margin. i didnt see Lakeville North beating a better team again in the section final

A HOT goalie like Lindgren can take a team a long way, I dont think they will be an easy game for whoever gets them first round.

Well... I think most people felt Hill-Murray were a shoe-in for the Tournament. So that seems like an obvious choice.

Sorry, LN/LS doesn't even come close to WBL over Hill.

WBL upsetting Hill-Murray is a much larger upset I think.

From a strict rankings/talent/what happened in the regular season perspective, North over South is probably the bigger upset.

But with all the history between Hill and White Bear, I think I'd argue that it's the more meaningful one.

Espically since everyone was convinced HM was gonna beat WBL and that HM had it locked up. HM was a favorite of many to win it all this year.

Hill losing to WBL.

Section 1 takes a beating and much deserved most of the time. However 2 towns make up 5 teams, no other section comes close to that and because of that it means to win the section you, more times tahn not, have to beat a crosstown team. Not since Minneapolis and St. Paul were powers was this true. You say all you want about Hill/WBL, Roseau/Moorhead, GR/East but these rivalries aren't the same as crosstown ones. These are kids who grew up playing with and against each other since mites and t-ball, went to the same schools, parents work in the same place, etc.

What the heck do you think Hill/WBL is?? 5 Hill kids are from WBL and they all played against each other in youth hockey. LN beat LS as late as last season did they not? How long has there been 2 high schools in Lakeville? You could multiply the history of both lakeville teams by 10x's and still won't come close to the Hill/WBL history. 15 years ago was the last time WBL beat Hill for the Section title not to mention the regular season record was like 20-0 run for Hill. Hill beat WBL earlier in the season and has been #1 since January, was Lakeville South even ranked? And what 5 teams does Lakeville make up? I only see South and North?

but looking at the posts, 95% thought Hill would win. Looking further into it 99% didn't care who was even playing in Section 1.

The two rows of scouts at the far end cared.

Personally speaking it was WBL over Hill for me. During my whole high school career I didnt get to see us beat Hill so that was great.
