A couple of things. VFW State has ten teams including the host and go by VFW Districts. It looks like Roseville is District 4 not 8. Below are the brackets. You need to scroll down to page 5. The other link is the VFW District Breakdown.

Your team has to be sponsored be your local VFW chapter..If not, you can't play in the VFW district's or VFW State Tourney. EP, Edina, Wayzata, OMG, Park, Burnsville, Blaine, Woodbury among many others are not sponorsed by a VFW chapter ..atleast not this year

The Minnesota Sports Broadcast Network will have coverage for sure of the Consolation Championship Game and the Championship games.
Tune in and watch live at:
www.MnSportsnetwork.com
You can go back and watch any of the games we covered for free as we archive every single game. I highly recommend watching the Roseau vs Cloquet game as the goalie Ketola for Cloquet almost single handed stole the game from Roseau as he finished with 57 saves for the game in the 4-3 OT Loss.
Thanks for watching the Minnesota Sports Broadcat Network

Mounds View beat Rochester 2-1 and advances to the championship; they'll play Roseau at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
Rochester will play Cloquet for 3rd place at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
Rosemount beat Alexandria 6-3 and Elk River beat Moorhead (sorry, don't have the score).
Thus, Elk River and Rosemount will play for consolation at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
Thanks to Moorhead for hosting a great tournament . . . they rolled out the red carpet with a spaghetti feed and the skills competition was a lot of fun.

Does anyone have any info on the Skills Competition ? Who won? What were the events ?

by UpNorthMom
The skills competition included a team challenge (5 players from each team shooting on other teams' goalies - an event for both the teams and the goalies); fastest lap; sprint; hardest shot (guy with a radar gun sat behind the net); and an agility challenge.
I only kept track of the Roseau boys . . . our Bantam goalies Ryan "Bob" Anderson and Ryan "Palmer" Norberg took second in the team challenge for goalies and Zach Yon won the hardest shot with a 90-mile per hour slapper.
Moorhead did a great job organizing the challenge - all 10 teams were on the ice at the same time and it could have been a mess . . . but it wasn't. Lots of fun to watch all these boys show their skills.

Cloquet took first in the goalie competition and Brainerd took third. Brainerd took 2nd in agility, 2nd in sprint, and 1st in fastest lap.
