I just found out that Hockey Day is gonna be held in Minnetonka this season. Grand Rapids is one of the teams invited. Those are the only details I have right now.

Minnetonka will be one of the prime time teams. Probably a private and maybe another northern

my guess is tonka,rapids,holy angels or BSM and myabe duluth east?

maybe a southern team instead of east but i highly doubt that

not gonna happen. wayzata played last year and ep the year before in hockey day.

on Lake Minnetonka? In front of Fletchers perhaps?

i heard that Edina had the option to play Minnetonka but turned it down. Tonka could possibly play EP, Duluth, or some team along those lines

It could be Eagan, Burnsville, Apple Valley, and Jefferson. It could also be Maple Grove, Blaine, Centennial, and Osseo.

They would basically be televising games that anyone in the metro could see twice a year in person, which would be stupid. I would cease to be a believer in Fox Sports if they chose the quoted lineup. Mulefarm, I hope you're being sarcastic.

Yeah, defending state champs... Blah Blah But weren't they in Hockey Day already 2 years ago?

Plus they are losing a lot of their core talent. They're not going to be the same team.

IMO, EAST or GR should get the call; they're projected to have solid teams this coming year. Get some rough northern boys to wrestle-up those Skippers.

And make a note of this people who run Hockey Day...

HAVE THIS EVENT IN JANUARY WHEN WE KNOW THE ICE WILL STAY FROZEN.

I think it will be on the lake at Maynards. They can tie it in with the pond hockey tournament.

If East is playing Minnetonka I wonder who Grand Rapids opponent will be? It won't be Edina, EP, or Elk River cause they already play them in the Edina Classic.

A lot of these posts are just rumors and made up by fans of their teams. First of all, Wayzata and Hill-Murry would not be chosen to play because they already were part of it last year. Second of all, Grand Rapids is not a for sure, although there has been some talk of it. As of right now the games look as this...

Duluth East vs. Minnetonka
Grand Rapids vs. Holy Angels

However this hasn't been decided yet so really there is no real point in this thread since they don't announce the finalized teams for a little while.

East - Tonka is correct but Rapids will be playing the Benilde Saints of Margaritaville Red Knights

If this is what it is, it should definitely be the best Hockey Day lineup they've had. On paper right now all four of those teams are in the top ten, maybe even top five, depending on who you ask.

I, too, hope it's not the Pioneers. I can't believe the way Moorhead got away with picking up the blue line and moving several feet toward their goal while everyone's attention was on a dozen fire extinguishers at the other end of the rink. What a farce.

Seriously, these games should be exhibitions.

My grand pa had a party line, my Dad had a land line phone, I've got a cell phone I can surf the web on. If you're really into nostalgia, watch the game on a 13" black and white TV, not your 69" HDTV with surround sound
