Try this web. Looks a little outdated in terms of school years, but I think this is still the organization. http://www.girlselitehockey.com/index.htm#2 Hockey Mom wrote:Anyone know anything about the Elite 1 league. I can only find info on the Elite 2 League. Help!!
I know you aren't trying to be be critical but they are doing fine with the Admin. The Girls have known the critical dates/times (including game days) for quite a while. Now they have the actual game time and opponent. I'm not sure there would be a fall league without their effort.observer wrote:Bless all volunteers but, unfortunately, administration isn't a strong suit.

Thanks for explaining the difference between Elite I and Elite IILetitice wrote:Speaking from experience, the Elite II did not have very good competition, very sloppy play and slow. Looking at the Elite I, it sounds like it might be a secret as to how one actually gets on a team....Looks like they might be scared to get some real competition from girls that are not from the Metro area......Guess what??? There is some REAL hockey talent north of St. Cloud, people!!!! They should call it the Metro Elite League!!
It pretty much is. Understandable, given that they practice in the Metro on Wednesday evenings. Check out the schedule -- their weekend games include teams from all over, including several from north of St. Cloud (Manitoba, Thunder Bay, Grand Rapids). There is some REAL hockey talent north of St. Cloud, people!!!! Here's the roster for the Grand Rapids Blaze http://www.grandrapidsblaze.com/roster.htm It's a stretch to call it a northern MN team. Definitely curious why the U19 MN Northern Starzz are not competing in this league, but they did a number of things this summer (in the metro area and NAHA), and it's a long drive from Warroad.... Grand Rapids ...
If that's true (and I am not doubting your word), then I can see both plusses and minuses. On the plus side, not all AAA teams really are loaded with the kind of talent that E1 exists for. On the negative side, it might be what's keeping northern MN talent out of E1.FlyingWarrior wrote:I don't think Summer AAA teams are eligible to participate in the Elite 1 program.
