Anyone know what’s up with Keegan Iverson? I did not see his name on the Elite league or Elite “D” league rosters.

He's a ninth grader and a 96. Probably no 96s in the Elite League and probably no 9th graders in Elite D.

Probably right on the 9th graders, but there are quite a few 96's in the elite D group: Hale, Glover, Copa, Cline, Lau, Frischman, Gorowski, Lindgren, Fidler, Wiitala(?), Donohue, Brown, Reinke and alternates, Sharp and Wewerka.

Iverson and Wiitala from Breck are playing for the U-16 Blades this Fall.

Players that are still eligible to play at the Bantam level (Birth dates 7/1/96 - 6/30/98) during the 2011 - 2012 season who did not play at the high school level during the 2010- 2011 season ARE NOT eligible to participate in the league (by MN Hockey rule).

Obviously there are exceptions to this rule. I do know that some played high school last year.

are'nt the kids in that group going to be 9th graders this coming fall? how would they have played HS hockey last year as 8th graders?

Hale is a 95 sophomore.

I think it has to do with his grade. I remember Travis Boyd had the same problem, he was a freshman coming off an 8th grade year where he scored 45 points and didn't get a look...he played Blades that fall as well.

Anyone know who else is on the U-16 roster, or who is coaching? Last team listed on the Blades website is the '97 team.

If he attended BSM I think he would be in the Elite league; just saying. He is obviously good enough to compete in the Elite league. And if you look closely enough there have been a few kids who have gone straight from Bantams to the Elite, something I thought was verboten. Iverson played varsity last year and did well. But he does not attend BSM; just saying.

Any they almost certainly will be again this year. Look for Keegan to have a monster year. He should be one of the top scoring Sophomores in the State.

Rumor has it that Keegan Iverson signed with the Portland Winterhawks over the weekend and will be leaving Breck after MEA weekend.
Also, his big brother Wes is considering going with him.

Big losses for the Mustangs!

Quite a stretch for Wes to play in the "W", he is average in the elite league.

Wes is a great kid and a hard worker. If this rumor is true it's possible that they feel he's got potential and can be developed. Either way I wish him nothing but the best!

Interesting, he's a 96 birthday so he's not eligible to play this season (besides a small number which i don't know) so he'll be playing Midget hockey out there...?
