Reading several of the posts, and found it very interesting all of the passion behind the MN Machine and Blade rivalry. So my question is this... are professional athletes, in this case hockey players, MADE as in the MN Made model, or BORN. Fire away...

Ya gotta love the commitment to the topic when the author won't even post under their usual name.

Just new to the forum Mr HockeyDad41. Read a lot of the posts and I am just wondering why people fork over so much money in the hopes their kid will become an NHL superstar. Or am I missing something? I find it amazing the slogan is hockey players are made not born. If that were the case, couldn't we all spend oodles of money, so all of our kids could play at a high level? Or does it take something else that money cannot buy?

Probably. Everyone knows that the Wolfpack is the only developmental program worth a darn.

I was just thinking the 375 other threads on this exact topic just weren't getting it done. Glad someone finally started a new one.

Who knows for sure. Think its gotta be a combination of things - including genetics and passion for hockey. One thing for sure lots of quality practice is needed no matter what. That's where the MADE part comes in. Even if you've got the genetics and are a natural athlete, you aren't going anywhere without that....and a dandy pair of gloves.

Aren't there something like 400 or so former Wolfpack players on Lord Stanley's Cup?

Regardless of the sport, it's a combination of the two IMO. But most importantly I think activities for young athletes should be fun.

The Blades/Machine thing is good for a while, but maybe admin needs a completely seperate section where all Blade/Machine debates & "discussions" can occur. Seriously, every fricking thread turns into (MM or Blades). Gets kinda old after a while doesn't it? Or maybe I should drink some kool aid and enjoy the show?

Go Wolfpack!

Not being much of a player myself, THEY ARE MADE. I've been coaching for some time now and I'm really getting good at it (skating and coaching).

They say about 10 years to master anything and I've only got about 3-4 more to go.

My son went from C mites last year to A squirts this year (people in the know predicting this). It wasn't my son's fire. Or his genetics. It was the Wolfpack developmental program that got him where he is today.

Go Wolfpack!

Go Wolfpack!
There are literally thousands of similar stories across the metro of C players cracking the A team after a summer with the Pack. There's really no substitute for success and Wolfpack's got it.

My son especially loves the Wolfpack vitamin and energy supplements. Go Wolfpack!

Absolutely correct......passion, genetics, and proper training/coaching. It's the training and coaching, (whether at the Made, MAP, or any other top training facility) that costs.....make sure that your money is well spent because there are major differences in what you get.
