IMHO,

I'd be interested in hearing which of our rankings need help?

Because Squirt and U10 district games haven't started and they have had only 1 weekend of tournaments, the Squirt/U10 rankings last week were admittedly weak. But I'd say the SQA/U10's are now solid. SQB is going to be iffy for the next two weeks until there is a greater body of work to judge.

As for the others, our staff has collected over 200 rankers throughout the state in all 12 active districts.

Our SQA, PWA, and Bantam is right on the nose....

I'd encourage you to become a ranker (the system is super easy to complete):

examples:

omission of wbl in bantam a, consolation champions in ep tourney beating prior lake, farmington, minnetonka, eden prairie, only loss to wayzata 3-1 3rd goal was empty netter. also wins over rosemount eden prairie, lakeville south, duluth east, osseo maple grove earlier in year. What more does it take to crack the top 10. most would say top 5.
And placing lakeville south at 9? really, really, really? they are 6-6-1 with onlygood win vs hopkins and many blow out losses against good teams these are 2 examples of horrible rankings to start with

Tony,
I appreciate your willingness to ask for input so I will give you mine..Bantam A rankings are suspect..no problem with 1,2,or even 3..but 4-10 are not close. Duluth has won about 4 games, Hopkins hasn't played anybody and Lakeville South is not a Top 10 team. Prior Lake lost all 3 in EP and OMG didn't do much better. Sibley has been up and down all year and Tonka and WBL (who has beaten OMG twice, EP twice, Prior Lake, Lakeville South and Duluth East) is nowhere to be seen. Not even going to try and rank them myself..just my opinion.

20custom,

Thanks -- duly noted. Next week, it looks like I will have to break out a little veto power on the rankers. Especially the WBL and LVS gaffe.

I saw Hopkins this weekend, they are deserving of Top 10....for now.

Thanks to all you guys for your feedback.

Best Regards,

TS

PS: If you sign up to rank...our staff would greatly appreciate it (I know a total shill).

Sometimes at the beginning of a season it takes a few weeks for the rankings to "come clean". Hopkins may not have played anyone yet, but they still may be "anticipated" to be a top 10 team. I watched Sibley beat Rosemount. From that game I could tell that they were a good team.

Either way it's not like he has them in the top 5.

PeeWee A ranks look solid! Some other good stuff on the site as well! I am sure it just a matter of time b4 all categories are tight - new site just off the ground it looks like, it will take a bit of time to get a good background of rankers. Take a pill some of you and just become a ranker - help out their cause.

One suggestion, recruit Scorekeeper. He does his homework.

Sibley is deserving of their #10 spot. Lakeville South is not deserving of their #9 spot , they lost 6-2 against the sibley/sta team.

OK, bag Hopkins. OMG 8 - Hopkins 1
8-0 after 2. In the third OMG forwards all dropped back to D, etc...

9-1. They didn't put up the OMG 3rd period goal scored by #5, one of just two forwards who actually played forward in the 3rd

OMG didn't do much better? Their only Pool loss was to eventual Tournament Champion Edina. They went 2-1 in Pool play (better than WBL's 1-1-1) with a 4-0 shut out over Andover and a 7-2 route of Lakeville.

I'd say that's MUCH better than the 0-3 egg laid by Prior Lake.

Rank em like this ;

1.) Edina - healthy now and beat everyone at Test of Best
2.) Wayzata - best overall resume to date
3.) EP - can't ignore Duluth Championship
4.) OMG - full strength now - deep and talented
5.) WBL - 2 wins over short-handed OMG team, losses to Sibley & Duluth
6.) Minnetonka - coming on strong
7.) Burnsville - lost to Woodbury in Championship of home Tourney
8.) Rosemount - lost to Eastview in Championship of home tourney
9.) Sibley - talented but small/young and lack depth
10.) Woodbury - Won Burnsville Tournament
11.) Eastview - Won Rosemount Tournament
12.) Elk River - coming on strong
13.) Andover - regrouping after defections
14.) Dultuh East - getting better from playing tough competition
15.) Centennial "dido"
16.) Prior Lake
17.) Farmington
18.) Stillwater
19.) Farmington
20.) Lakeville South

Also get ready for East Grand Forks. I watched them play Alexandria a couple of weeks back and were real impressive in a 6-0 shut out. They have piled up a few more wins since then and look to be a Top 5 squad as well.

No dispute with the rankings, but Edina is still not healthy. A very dangerous forward is still benched and likely will be till, at least, January.

GW is a very talented and skilled player but you have to keep in mind that when he comes back it's going to be difficult to come right in and have a huge impact. The pace will be getting ready to peak at this level with playoffs just around the corner. He most likely isn't going to be in the best shape other than hopefully healthy and stamina will most likely be down.

Yes it will be nice to have him back in their lineup but IMHO Edina's best weapon right now is the ability to just roll two lines...and even after playing 4 games still had enough juice to play a 5th and win in 2 OT's.

ability to just roll two lines
What? A little short on quality players? That's some bad coaching.

Not really bad coaching..they took 19 skaters in anticipation of loosing a copule.

They have 3 injured fowards right now and one injured Defenseman.
