SEC Thursday Night Action 12-8-2011

Cretin-Derham Hall (1-1-0) at Woodbury (3-0-1) 7:30PM
Woodbury has been stingy defensively so far this season, allowing only 4 goals in 4 games. The Raiders have been up and down in their two games thus far, handling Blake easily in a victory, then jumping out to an early two goal lead against White Bear only to lose 6-2. Winner gets the early season upper hand in Section 3AA.
Park-Cottage Grove (2-0-1) at Forest Lake (1-2-0) 7:30PM
The Wolfpack has surprised early knocking off Eastview, Irondale and tying Stillwater. They will be tested tonight against a Rangers team that struggled with penalties that hurt them in opening losses to Roseville and Grand Rapids. They found their offense with a 10 goal performance against STMA Tuesday night.
Hastings (1-2-0) at Roseville (3-0-0) 7:30PM
Roseville is off to a nice start, again playing solid defense, and finding a little scoring punch by their top line. Hastings lacked scoring in their first two contests which resulted in a 0-2 start for the Raiders, although one of those losses was to a highly ranked Eagan squad. They bounced back with a nice win against Mounds View. Roseville has been swept by Hastings the past two seasons and is surely looking to reverse that trend.
Non-Conference Games
East Ridge (2-1-1) at Eastview (1-1-0) 7:15PM
Another Section 3AA contest that could have an effect come seeding time. The Raptors are coming off a tie against rival Woodbury in their SEC opener, they could use some more offensive production, especially on the power play.
Irondale (0-2-0) at Mounds View (0-2-0) 7:30PM
The much hyped Mustangs should get their coach his 1st varsity win tonight, if not Mounds View is in for a looooong season.
