NOT a good call, Burnsville leads 3-1 after two.mulefarm wrote:BSM-running time

Burnsville's goalie played awesome! Even though they were outshot, Burnsville looked like they controlled the game. Anderson with 5 points (1 goal and 4 assists) stood out. Most of their goals were PP goals and it shows that teams need to play disciplined hockey against them or they will lose the game. Congrats to the Blaze!stpaul wrote:Burnsville 5, BSM 1
Congrats to Burnsville. Nice win. Good luck to Ken Pauly to try to get the BSM superstars to play disciplined team hockey. I especially enjoyed the HM transfer waving his stick around above his head demanding the puck from his new teammates.
Besse did look a step slow tonight, but you still have to keep in mind that he is still recovering from the concussion he got during the Hill-Murray game a week ago.HappyHockeyFan wrote:Not impressed by BSM, Besse looked average and overall team not top 5 material. Burnsville has a nice team and will compete well in conference play against anyone. They will be serious contenders come sections. Jake Horton for BSM was their best player on the ice tonight, for Burnsville it was Chapman and Sheehy. Next up for Burnsville is Rosemount and for BSM its Duluth Mashall. Its early yet so maybe BSM just needs time to hit stride.
Horton plays up front on the power play (and sometimes in situations where they really need a goal). Check the pp numbers from last year. They skyrocketed when Horton moved up.keepyourheadup wrote:Benilde got out coached badly! Someone please explain why Horton ..a top defenseman in the state...was moved to center ice? Sorry HHF but he looked lost there, he is clearly talented but is not comfortable at forward. Burnsville had a great plan and just stuck with it. The team in red almost seemed offended that Burnsville dare to compete with them. So much individual play on the part of Benilde kept the more skilled team from doing much.
Hope the kid gets better soon. Always hate to see concussion situations with young players.Hockey4281 wrote:Besse did look a step slow tonight, but you still have to keep in mind that he is still recovering from the concussion he got during the Hill-Murray game a week ago.HappyHockeyFan wrote:Not impressed by BSM, Besse looked average and overall team not top 5 material. I guess I missed that he had a concussion a week ago, could possibly explain his average play tonight.Hockey4281 wrote:Besse did look a step slow tonight, but you still have to keep in mind that he is still recovering from the concussion he got during the Hill-Murray game a week ago.HappyHockeyFan wrote:Not impressed by BSM, Besse looked average and overall team not top 5 material. I was mainly talking about speed and skill regarding Horton, he looked like their best player out there tonight. I wasnt really speaking in terms of positioning and I will say that there was too much individual play out there, but the season is young, I would say really start judging these teams after the calendar turns and they got 8 - 10 games under them.keepyourheadup wrote:Benilde got out coached badly! They didn't get out coached, just ask Pauly.keepyourheadup wrote:Benilde got out coached badly! Someone please explain why Horton ..a top defenseman in the state...was moved to center ice? I watched the game online and to me it looked like Burnsville's #26,#4, and #21 shot Besse's line down. Solid defense by Burnsville.HappyHockeyFan wrote:I guess I missed that he had a concussion a week ago, could possibly explain his average play tonight.Hockey4281 wrote:Besse did look a step slow tonight, but you still have to keep in mind that he is still recovering from the concussion he got during the Hill-Murray game a week ago.HappyHockeyFan wrote:Not impressed by BSM, Besse looked average and overall team not top 5 material. Kind of like Leslie Frazier deciding to use Percy Harvin to return kickoffs in the second half on Sunday. Sometimes you do what you think you need to do to win the game.keepyourheadup wrote:I get the PP thing but this was pure panic.
Sometimes a coach does need to send a message to his team, and one tactic is to do something different and unexpected to try to change the momentum. It obviously didn't work in this case, so it's easy to second guess.keepyourheadup wrote:Early in the second? sure sends a message to your team that the guys up front aint gettin it done.
If he had a concussion last week against Hill Murray and he played last night, Pauly should be fired. Has he not picked up the paper recently?HappyHockeyFan wrote:I guess I missed that he had a concussion a week ago, could possibly explain his average play tonight.Hockey4281 wrote:Besse did look a step slow tonight, but you still have to keep in mind that he is still recovering from the concussion he got during the Hill-Murray game a week ago.HappyHockeyFan wrote:Not impressed by BSM, Besse looked average and overall team not top 5 material.
