Unlucky/tuffest schedule of the week.

Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons:
Played #2 Minnetonka Tuesday night, then They get #3 Maple Grove on Thursday. tuff week for the falcons.
Armstrong suffered a 9-2 loss to Tonka. another loss like that tomorrow has to be tuff mentally. I know it would be for me.

Armstrong had it even "tuffer" when they were part of the old Classic Lake Conference. Considering the shape their youth program is in (now combined with Cooper) and how many good kids they lose to the private schools, they actually do surprisingly well.

Thank goodness it's Thursday and not Monday, otherwise Roseauverrated might had to of thought twice about that one...

I have to agree. They are consistently in that 5-6 seed range and seem to perform decently. But seriously, when was the last time they had a legitimate player come out of their program?

Tommy Fallen freshman at Yale...playing a lot as a freshmen. Armstrong Youth Hockey Association has produced many division 1 players over the years. GB

Do you have a list of others and where they played?
Did any of them play for the high school or were some "recruited" out of the program?

Considering they might lose a good number to privates, there can be quite a difference in how many D1 players the
association produces compared to the
high school program. I'm not bashing Armstrong hockey, but I just can't think of any real standouts since maybe Thorson in '07.

To my knowledge there haven't been any lately. But 3-5 years back the
association produced Kent Patterson of the Gophers, Cory Thorson of SCSU, Mike Morin of CC, Pat Borer (now at Niagra) and Tommy Fallon of Air Force. Maybe others I don't remember...but they did have some very competitive PeeWee and Bantam teams.

Since '08. Not bad having two D1 players in three years.

I'm sure they did have some competitive youth teams with players like that. I guess I wasn't fully aware of some of the players that have come from Armstrong.
