SLP takes their mite hockey very seriously

Just returned from the rink after watching my son play in a mite game against Spring Lake Park.
Nothing really noteworthy except I was able to witness just how seriously SLP takes their mite hockey.
As most everyone knows we do not keep scores or assess penalties in mite hockey. Usually we play stop time in the 1st and 2nd period and have a running 3rd period. We try to keep the kids moving and get everyone as much ice time as we can in our allotted 60 minutes.
Not exactly sure what the score was, but in the third period with about 5 minutes to go (clock is running) the coach of SLP - who is also I believe the association president - stops the faceoff after a goal to argue with the ref that it was tipped in with a high stick so it shouldn't count. Meanwhile the clock is running down and the kids are made to wait.
Really Coach? Wow.

Hilarious. Although not sure I'd paint the entire association into that box. More like one freak......which we have all seen.

SLP most likely provided the ref for this mite game, which would be a 13 or 14 year kid. Perhaps he was helping out a new ref learning the rules and using this for training. Funny that you're the one who is so worked up about it that you needed to post it on this forum.

On top of it I'm surprised it was a board member.
They're usually the smartest people in the association.

Agree 100%, but sadly people have more fun assuming he's at fault on this. Always two sides to every story. Doubt he'll say anything, far too classy of a guy.
