Question about public school programs.

If all private schools closed down tomorrow, which public schools would become state powers or at least see their programs improve dramatically? I'm not real familiar where the private schools in the TC area draw most of their kids. Just curious.

Not to 'sidejack' this thread but how many kids are fully committed to private school at an early age but play hockey in say the Wayzata or Maple Grove systems until they reach the age where their private school even HAS hockey?

Did that question even make sense?

Tonka doesn't lose much, but it does happen.

We'll never know.

You're right, Lee. This isn't going to end well...

My guess is the same schools on top now would just be better, there would be more players and junior gold would double.....

Agreed. That makes sense.

It would be interesting to see how it would effect more southern programs like the Rochester schools and the Lakeville schools

i played in the tonka youth program and i dont think there is anyone playing varsity at a private school. no one who couldve made tonka varsity at least, there might be kids playing swing line at Holy Family and Minnehaha.

How about this:
If the dog hadn't stopped to take a dump, would he have caught the rabbit ?

Makes about as much sense.

I'm curious, too.

What kind of mind fantasizes about closing private schools?

I mean, aren't most private schools religious?

Wasn't there an infamous Austrian who also fantasized about eliminating certain religious groups?

Just curious.

Touchy subject with you reaper?

I asked an innocent question, no fantasizing by me. I don't want to see any private school, let alone your precious BSM, get shut down. I just don't know the TC school system well enough to know what communities have the most kids go to private schools, that's all.

The jump you made connecting my innocent question to your Austrian uncle is childish and ignorant.

Whatever it is you "reap", it sure isn't common sense.

Most likely he's looking to figure out what deficits the programs/schools have that students are attending private schools in lieu of to make an effort to see what what need to be done to change the trend.

Don't a lot of Stillwater kids end up at H-M?

 No, really most private schools are just facist para-military schools in the closet. And please add Lakeville South & STA to this thread. It won't be any fun without them in the mix.

Fantasize - create or develop imaginative and often far-fetched views or ideas
I only ask the questions.

What I reap are your true colors and your ad hominem, slanderous attacks.
I asked an innocent question trying to generate some discussion and you began the ad hominem attacks by implying viciously what kind of mind I may have. That was uncalled for.

I only asked a question, but you wanted to be a Richard about it, so I'll give you what you want. I didn't start this, but I'll finish it.

Let's take a look at those private schools:

1. Only the "chosen people" are allowed
2. Everyone must wear uniforms
3. Everyone must practice the same religion
4. Everyone worships a "dear leader"

It pretty obvious that the closest thing we have to the vision your favorite uncle from Austria had can be found right within the hallowed halls of your beloved private school.

I love engaging in a battle of wits, but it is obvious you are an unarmed man. (woman?)

Move along now, you're embarrassing yourself.

Well, this lasted a whole twelve hours before descending into ugliness.
