I'm surprised no one has started one of these yet. This is a huge game for both teams for section seeding play. On top of that, there has to be some emotional background that will have an effect on tonight's game. Who takes it home?
I think BSM's firepower will be too much for Zata to handle but they will need to keep their emotions in check or else things will get ugly.
4-1 BSM.

My guess is that both teams will show a lot of respect for each other.
I am taking Way by 3-2.

BSM wins it 4-3. In the game that was postponed due to the injury to Jack Jablonski, each team had a 5 minute major but neither was able to take advantage. Very entertaining game to watch, though, and the Plymouth Ice Center was packed.

BSM wins 4-3. Good hockey game. Benilde killed 5 minute major (horn) in the 3rd to hold on. Wayzata plays a tough trap and are hard to beat on large ice rink at home.

Pat O'Leary has done a good job with this wayzata team in his first yr as a head coach, especially losing camaransi and Lucia.

The game should have been tied. Wayzata's goal that was disallowed was a goal. BSM won't be much of factor in sections, due to bad defense, stupid penalties at the wrong time (highlighting their bad defense). Which is the Pauly's doing. Great recruiter, terrible Coach.

Actually the game should have been about 6-2, in Benilde's favor. BSM had a strong edge in puck possession, skating, attempted shots and good scoring chances. Where they did not play well was in goal. All three of Wayzata's goals should have been stopped. Pauly pulled Jecha after the second soft one, and Wayzata's third goal was very soft as well. At the other end, Benilde's forwards just missed the net from close in on numerous occasions - on most nights several of those would have gone in.

I agree that BSM has had a tendency to break down on defense and take dumb penalties, but in this game they mostly avoided doing both (taking the major in the 3rd was the obvious exception). But in the last half of the 3rd period tonight they were able to successfully change their forecheck and play real good team defense, shutting down Wayzata as they attempted to get the equalizer. Whatever team draws BSM in the semi's would be foolish to look past them.

BSM will be fine. Not saying they will win it all but they are a very solid team capable of beating any team on any night. Wayzata has a nice team as well. Good game tonight. I think Timmy is just an angry Wayzata fan.

that goal that didnt count was suspect. It turned around the game completely.
but BSM shouldve won that game easily. Moore missed a couple chances and so did Besse even though he scored 2 goals too.

Funny how people say Pauly is a terrible coach yet he is the only one responsible for turning around the entire Minnetonka hockey program. Tonka was a joke before Pauly took over.

and he probably gave recommendation for Urich to take over the program after him.
I hate when people rip on coaches like Pauly. Not that good of a year for him but what he has done over the past two decades backs this year up.

Gray, I know you didn't mean it this way, but just think about it when his "not a good year" is #8 in the state and 15-5. I think that says it all in support of him.

Giving Pauly credit for the Minnetonka program's success is a bit (ok, a lot) of a stretch.
There were some significant changes in the youth program during the years just before Pauly's arrival and after that I think had a much greater impact.
