I know that LVS and PL are at the top of their districts. I think Centennial might just be ahead of ER in that district...not positive though.

EGF and Bemidji? Don't think atleast 1 of these teams is going to make it out of districts. I like D5's chances in regions alot this year. STMA has beat Bemidji twice this season. I think Rouseau and STMA out of that region would be a more likely pair but don't count out Buffalo or Monticello. I would agree with the rest of your picks.

The Elks are at top of D10 with the best record. With an Elk Win & FPP vs. Bengals this Wednesday the Elks win D10 league and get #1 seed in Districts, no matter what the Cougars do.

D10 only has 2 spots to Regions, Elks and Cougars favorites but in D10 there is always a surprise in the playoffs. Good Luck to all D10 Teams!!

I love predictions. Especially when I am not reminded I made the wrong one!

This is actually easier to predict than some of these other tournaments (EP, Edina, Roseau and WBL). Based on brackets and Region seeding, here is how it shakes out:

Roseau (W), STMA (W), Elk River (N), Centennial (N), LVS (E), OMG (E), Prior Lake (S), and Eden Prairie (S)

The pick I'm least confident with is EP...but the other top teams in the South region (Edina, Tonka, or Roch Red) have not knocked my socks off this year. The other 7 are locks.

The team least deserving of a state bid is Roseau. Hermantown is a more worthy northern team than the Rams, but I don't draw up the districts, MN Hockey does. Give MN Hockey credit, they do a pretty nice job overall of gerrymandering the districts to get the most balanced and best teams to their state tournaments.

I got it this way.

South - Prior Lake, Minnetonka (e.p. has the goalie but lack scoring)

North - Centennial, Hermantown (elk river blows it)

West - STMA, Roseau

East - Wayzata Gold, Lakeville South (OMG's top line runs out of gas)

Close but there is no way OMG does not get out of their region. EP can get there if their goalies can get back to stopping the puck, right now they are not

I like it TPSH. I will bet you a bag of mini-doughnuts on OMG (the gold has beaten them)

Make it beer and I'm in.

Everyone has beaten everyone this year, throw it all out the window. This year it will be who is hot, who is lucky and who wants. Most even I have seen this league in years.

Any idea on what the tie breaker is if 2 teams have the same amount of regular season points as far as seeding is concerned?

When it comes to tie breaks in our district. If 2 teams are tie at the end of regular season, 1st break is head to head, 2nd is total points recieved in head to head match up, 3rd is total fpp earned, 4th is coin toss

D10 Reads:
a) Head to head competition among tied teams including Fair Play points
b) Most wins in League Play
c) Fewest losses in League Play
d) Most Fair Play points earned in League Play
e) Largest goal differential among tied teams (6 goals max per game)
f) Greatest quotient: goals for divided by goals against among tied teams
g) Largest goal differential for all league play (6 goals max per game)
h) Greatest quotient: goals for divided by goals against for all league play
i) Flip of a coin by a league official in the presence of the district Director

Has anyone seen Hibbing play? I saw them play lvs this weekend and the score was a lot closer than I thought it'd be(5-1) they also won the consolation side of the tourney. Could they be a contender in their region or not?

I can't disagree with much of this. So in what order do you rank the Regions this year? What is the toughest Region to get out of? My order would probably be: E, S, N, W.

S E N W

South has a ton of D6 teams plus Roch Red

East a 3 team for 2 spots

North is 2 teams plus a scrappy Hermantown

West has STMA, that's it

State will be tough to pick..regions is kinda easy. Just like any post season sporting event, expect a surprise or two

Potential surprises (i.e. teams I didn't pick): Stillwater, Hermantown, Edina (is that a surprise with how much talent they have?), and Duluth East.

Right now I think it's going to come down to which teams can stay healthy and which teams a are hot and which teams are not. Centennial, LVS, and OMG look like they are the most healthy and hot right now. Eden Prarie is lacking both of those right now and same with ER.

Looks like the state brackets have South and East / North and West matching up in the first games. From other posters it sounds like S / E teams are stronger than N / W. We could have some great games on Friday!!

Have any of the "favorites" been knocked out of contention for Regions??

What kind of rink does Alex have? What do you think the atmosphere will be like? Do the city teams bring nice crowds with them?

Not really ... only 2 of the top 26 teams in State have been eliminated. #16 Minnetonka and #26 Lakeville South. The other Top 24 teams in State are still battline, and the following teams have already clinched a ticket to Regions ...

#1 Wayzata
#2 Edina
#3 OMG
#4 Burnsville
#6 Prior Lake
#7 Eden Prairie
#10 Moorhead
#11 EGF
#21 Duluth East
#24 Hermantown

Additionally, these top teams are in the drivers seat, either in the final or semi-final of their district, but not clinched ...

#5 White Bear
#8 Woodbury
#9 Rosemount
#12 Andover
#15 Lakeville North
#17 Roseville
#23 Centennial

These Top teams are on the ropes on the backside of their bracket and at risk of being eliminated from contention ...

#13 Sibley
#16 Elk River
#18 Blaine
#19 Farmington
#20 Eastview
#22 Stillwater
#25 Minneapolis

These are the other teams, ranked 27th or lower who havealready clinched Regional seeds

#29 Cloquet
#30 Sartell
#34 Grand Rapids
#37 Alexandria
#42 Rochester Red
#44 Bemidji
#48 Mankato
#50 TRF
#52 Detroit Lakes
#55 STMA
#60 New Ulm
#67 Albert Lea
#68 Hibbing
#89 Eveleth

... oops. sorry. my bad. wrong thread. this is a bantam list ... very sorry

what 8 peewee teams make it to sate

I have only seen a few metro teams, they were in the Roso Tourney. I see Roso making it to State if they play up to their potential, were talking about kids just about anything can happen but the Rams are pretty good and more importantly they are healthy. They have pretty good depth, good talent and good goaltending. They are well coached and play pretty solid positional hockey, hope they get to the show and do well. Dont over look them and its Roso and Bemidji out of District 16.
