Spring fever or March madness???

Judging by the way Minnetonka, MG, Eagan played their games on Saturday are these boys looking beyond their opponents or what?

Caught the MG game. You could tell right away the game meant nothing for MG (already locked up the conference and section seed) and ER had every reason to play for each other (given recent events). While the shots appeared to favor the Crimson, MG just wasn't clicking.

Noticed Tonka played Wayzata very close and Eagan ties a team not even on the radar.

What's up???

I agree- something weird was happening today.

Unfortunately, I can only give my two-cents on the Minnetonka game. For the first two periods, Wayzata did an outstanding job of blocking many of Tonka's shots from the point. The usual firepower from Minnetonka's D and Forwards was just not there from the start and after 2 periods, Wayzata was leading 3-1 with a 18-13 shot advantage. The third period went back to the old Minnetonka ways of dominating play the entire game. I think Wayzata just got too tired after rolling the top 2 lines the whole time. This is where the Skippers' depth comes into play- the third period. I believe the final shots were 27-22ish in favor of Minnetonka and they came back and won it in OT. Wayzata won the first period and a half. Minnetonka won the last period and a half.

Back to your original point, I do not believe Minnetonka was looking past Wayzata today thinking they were going to come out with an easy win. They have already done that against EP and I believe they learned their lesson. I give major props to Wayzata for playing an outstanding game and what Coach O'Leary says is the "best 3 periods the team has played all year".

As for Maple Grove and Eagan, I have no idea what happened to either of them. I just know East is going to look at the Elk River win and see that it might not be so easy to get to that Section Final game.

I was at the jags vs. eagan game. Saw jeff cut the lead to 4-2, only to see the wildcats score after the face off to make it 5-2 with just under 10 minutes to go.

The jags were never in the game up to that point. I left the rink to take in another game. Big mistake. What happened?
