I know it's early, but for a game that will perhaps determine the #1 seed in 6AA I figured it would be good for some discussion.

I think that Tonka learned their lesson the last time these two teams met. They cannot take any team lightly and just because they are the #2 ranking doesn't mean they have an easy ride to state. They will feed off of the energy at Pagel, which is sure to be crazy, and come out with a W.

5-2 Tonka.

Hopefully the Eagles can battle hard, they are without there 1st line: Bergh (collarbone) out for the year, Knudsen (hip) out for the week, Spinner (concussion) out for the week.

That's tough, those guys are also the top 3 scorers for EP, the other guys will have to step up in a big way!

Could be a rough game for the Eagles, those 3 guys have scored about half of Eden Prairies goals (44/91). I'm predicting a 6-2 win for Tonka.

Its going be a grind. LaCombe has the start tonight in goal- I imagine he's gonna be a busy beaver..! The boys stepped up vs Apple Valley without those guys, but AV is no Tonka, esp. at Pagel. We'll see. I still have the faith! [-o<

You seem to have quite the inside scoop on Eden Prairie. Do you know why Gerdes played in 3 straight, when Lacombe has been playing in the majority of games all year?

While I agree this is not ideal situation for EP, Tonka would be foolish to underestimate the guys playing tonight. They have all contributed to team's success this year, and I expect they will step up big tonight and give Tonka all they can handle.

Looking at the match up, one would have to go with Tonka. After reading that EP's first line is out of the game. I would think this has a chance to be running time.

Thanks Doc, no need to broadcast this type of stuff here and give teams time to prepare, let them figure it out come game time.

Skippers 6-3. Pagel is too tough to play at, especially with EP's top 3 scorers out.

OR maybe this is not reliable and kids all will be fine and able to play- and then Tonka will be off guard? Take this boards info with a grain of salt....

top line is out, and with them it would be a 6-1 game....remember, you don't beat Tonka at home.......without the top line, double digits victory for the blue team....it won't be pretty.

Wow Fred.. I am pretty sure you are an EP guy, so where's the respect/love/faith in your home town boys? I would sure hope they have earned at least some respect from you over the season!

I am an EP guy, but I am also a realist. Look at what Tonka did to East on that rink......Now take away the number 1, 2, and 3 scorers that have carried this team......what do you come up with......a waxing.

All those who predicted a waxing were absolutely correct. Without that first line playing, the Eagles looked devastating. 45-11 shots. 6-0 score.

Tonight put a twist on the 6AA seedings... Wayzata, who had their 4 seed almost handed to them upsets Edina 3-2, thus making Minnetonka the Lake Conference Champions. Seeds 2-4 are up for serious debate.

While there is still one key match up left between EP and Edina, the 6AA seeding meeting will sure be a long one.

Yes, and if wasn't bad enough that EP was missing their top 3 scorers, 2 more of their top forwards went down in the first period with concussions. The officials were brutal. Called EP for a major in the first period for putting their hands in someone's face, and then Tonka delivers 2 hits to the head, both end up in concussions, and no penalties. That's what happens when you let D6 youth officials officiate a high school game. Not saying it would have had any impact on the score obviously, but they had no control over the game, pretty pathetic.

You can make a serious argument for Wayzata to be the #3 now, with EP #4 and BSM #2. Wayzata splits with EP and Edina, takes skippers to OT in most recent meeting with EP losing in a blowout. If Edina beats EP saturday, I think they are the new number four with Wayzata moving up.

Not at all, EP plays the toughest schedule in the state, beat Tonka in regulation in their first meeting (when EP was not missing their top 4 scorers) and has 3 fewer losses than Wayzata. Wayzata cannot be seeded above EP in any scenario I can imagine. If EP gets its forwards back for playoffs they should be the 2 seed based on what they have accomplished this year.

Yikes, 6-0? Whoever saw the game, was it defense, goaltending or just an all around bad night for the eagles?

You are correct they have the toughest schedule, but wayzata is number 3 in SOS so not really much an argument there. Bottom line is Wayzata split with EP the most important criteria, then to common opponents. Every team has had injuries especially wayzata during the holiday portion of their season, the injury argument is stupid. Wayzata took Tonka to OT and proved they can beat them if they get good/decent goaltending. the deciding factor in that game.

As far as injuries are concerned; Wayzatas starting goalie last year, Dingman has been out with injuries this whole season. Good thing Almquist is up to the challenge of taking over. Hoping Aaron a speedy recovery and to see him playing again next year.

EP has more quality wins than Wayzata and BSM combined. You people are dilusional if you think either of them should be seeded ahead of EP. Look at the complete body of work, it's not even close.

First of all if Edi beats EP on Saturday it will be co champs for the lake conference.

I agree the refs were not the best but they were missing or letting calls go both ways. EP got very chippy in the last two periods. EP will have to be much more disciplined on Sat the 25th if they are going to make it to the Section finals on the 29th.
