New Sarsland Info

Since it seems that Twitter is the new media go to site, I feel that this info is credible enough to post on a discussion forum while staying civil. This morning, Lets Play Hockey tweeted :

"Sources say Elk River HS boys' hockey head coach Tony Sarsland is the victim of a “witch hunt” by past/future ER parents."

"All of the players, their parents & much of the community back Sarsland. The entire team was at his house following the ER-Maple Grove game."

"The investigation has yielded no new evidence. Could the school reinstate Sarsland as coach still this season?"

"Stay tuned for future developments."

Personally as an East fan I am not happy this is going on now, it will just give ER more motivation and fire in the playoffs, and with a goalie like Frankie that could be dangerous.

I hope Tony gets his job back. Miss him already. Thanks for sharing the story with us.

Unless this is some insane Machiavellian plot by him to spur his team to a section title over a super stacked East team, thereby cementing his legacy.

Or he just lost his temper and went too far in someone's eyes.

The reporting from Lets Play Hockey is not usually so decisive. Interesting that they are choosing to play a role in this issue. 8)

If this were all true, there is no way/reason why he would have resigned so abruptly.

He's getting towards the end, it has been said that this or next year is probably his last. Rather than wasting his time/breath dealing with all of this, I'm guessing he was sick of all the hoopla and decided to pack it in.

From Let's Play Hockey on Twitter today:

"The Elk River school district has accepted boys hockey coach Tony Sarsland’s rescinded resignation which Sarsland had submitted under duress.

The school district is continuing to do its due diligence before reinstating Sarsland as head coach this season or in the future."
