I was wondering if Stepan played... is this hearsay or do you know for sure?

They were rostered it looks like.

SSM had three guys out:

Montgomery - Dislocated Shoulder
Stepan - Broken Rib
Petrella - Sick

Regardless, it was a fun game to watch. Back and forth the entire game. Both teams played hard and clean.

Even if that's true great game for Breck! Always nice to see a MN high school team competing with a powerhouse like SSM

seeing this score makes me really wish SSM would play DE or Tonka. I bet EP lsat year could have beaten them

That said, their World all star team would be 2-10 against a true Minnesota All-Star team who practices together for 5 months and has designated special teams. Unlike the Elite league where they split the teams and roll the lines on the power play.

You may want to check the Elite League historical results. Shattuck does just fine against Minnesota teams.

They are not better individual players. They're kids just like ours. Breck tied them and is one of over 100 high school teams in Minnesota. He said "true Minnesota All-Star teams." The Elite League isn't even close to true all star teams. Remember the other point about practicing and playing together for 6 months. That's an important distinction. I like Shattuck, and their teams, but stop with the they're amazing.

None. They would be selected for their skill and ability alone and not their family's net worth.

I agree. They do fine in the Elite League.

For what its worth I stood and watched the final game of the Bauer NIT with a group of scouts and they all agreed that the Minnesota team was superior when judged man for man but the intensity and systems employed by Shattuck made a huge difference. Shattuck is a TEAM in every sense of the word while the teams from the Elite league and the NIT are basically thrown together. This season most elite teams practiced just one hour a week. Agree with an earlier post, I have great appreciation for the way SSM plays the game!

What is the process of getting to play for Shattuck? If you get accepted to the school, can anyone join the hockey program? Do you need to be recruited to the school to play?
