i am looking for some pregame feedback on the upcomming Fergus Falls vs Breckenridge/Wahpeton Sec 6A playoff game 2/21. Has anyone watched the BW Blades in action? How do they look? How is the goaltending? Do they have a banginging grind it out style? Is overall team speed a big factor?
I haven't heard much about them other than the upset win over Princeton and a 16-5 record.
Thanks!

Well it appears as though all you can do is judge them based on their scores and compare that way. They play a relatively weak schedule, but I am sure the switch to MN over ND had something to do with that. Some of their scores are nice to see such as a 4-3 win over Willmar and that 6-5 win over Princeton, who beat Little Falls twice. BUT then you look into some of their close wins they do have such as a split with Morris-Benson (#9 seed in 6A playoffs) beat Wadena (#10 seed with 1 win this season) 7-3 and 3-2 (Willmar is the 7 seed and just beat Wadena 10-1 in the playin games of sections), and narrow wins over Mandan and Hazen-Beulah of North Dakota where both teams struggled in the poor west region and had records of 9-15 and 9-14 respectively.

So by scoreboard watching I would have to take Fergus Falls as the heavy favorite in this one. B-W might not have much depth either but do boast a kid in Cody Bronson with 26 goals in 21 games, yet they don't set the world on fire when it comes to scoring goals with a 3.95 goals per game average.

This is why we play the games however as Fergus Falls is on a bit of a slide right now losing to SCC 11-0, Alex 6-0, Tech 7-3, Brainerd 5-1, and beating Willmar 5-4 to end the season. My hunch says Fergus based on past history but B-W could surprise someone this time of the year based on the fact that nobody knows much about them.

If theres going to be an upset in the first round of the 6A bracket, its going to be this game, Breckenridge has been playing solid and Fergus Falls has been slumping, should be a great game!

It will be closer than most think. Most of the Time I'd say FF in a route. However the otters have had trouble figuring it out this year. Bw seems to be on an upswing as well adding to the drama. I hope FF can get it going...

Fergus Falls with more team speed...that could be the difference in this one.

Goalith beats David 5-2, could set up for new rivalry if FF puts BW on schedule. With conference commitments it becomes difficult.

It took 47 0Otter shots with that skate end to end nonpassing dump and chase style of play. BW had solid goaltending. FF could have scored 8-10 goals if they would PASS THE PUCK!
CONGRATS TO THE BLADES ON A VERY NICE MSHL INAUGURAL SEASON!
Good luck Otters!
PASS THE PUCK AND GOALS WILL HAPPEN!

Totally agree. They would have to drop Wadena from the schedule, but I think it would be great for hockey in the area.
