What happened to Woodbury

I am just curious. I remembered them having some great Bantam A teams in the last few years. Do they get raped by other programs? All their guys leave for juniors?

Here is what I have for Bantam A records the last few years (from myhockeyrankings.com)

2010-2011 - #8 45-10-8
2009-2010 - #3 63-5-3 (I think they won State and took 2nd in the VFW)
2008-2009 - #14 32-21-3

Now they are a #8 seed?

It may have something to do with having two High Schools so the talent gets spread out between them. That along with a few transfers makes them average I guess.

Didn't Jake Guentzel play on those bantam teams. You can thank Hill Murray for Woodbury's woes.

Off of this team, I beleive 4 went to Hill, 5 to Woodbury, and 8 to East Ridge.
That could be part of it.

Thanks all. I was unaware of there being two high schools there.

Rosemount 4 Woodbury 3 in 2 OT

The youth organization is still one "Woodbury Hockey" and supports Eastridge and Woodbury HS which I think still is one of the bigger youth organizations in the State.

Sounds like it does a good job of supporting Hill-Murray as well.

Anyone think that this will facilitate the creation of an "East Ridge Athletic Association"? Even if "Woodbury Hockey" is one of the biggest youth org. in the state, there's still only going to be one PeeWee A and one Bantam A team. Only one Board as well...the parents who volunteer/get involved in running the youth organization are often the same parents who run the high school booster club/blue line club. And then there's the fact that East Ridge draws in kids from Cottage Grove that live in the old Park collection area.

It's not an easy task, and can get messy at times, (just ask the folks living in Lakeville, or in AV/Eagan/Rosemount when Eastview was built), but sooner it's done, the better, imo.
