St Thomas is the clear favorite here, allowing just 4 goals in their last 11 games, but one of those was a close shut out over Totino-Grace, so these teams are clearly close in ability. Should be a great game one Friday.

Scary game for cadets since last game was 1-0, but 4 things working heavily in their favor.
D... 4 goals against in 11 games is impressive. TG something like 35 goals in last 11.
Depth, 3 very solid lines and d pairs. TG 2 of each.
Goalie seeing pucks like beach balls.
Been there done that, up and down the line up. Certainly where it counts most, between the pipes. Defending champs.
3-1 sta. Dominating the third period as TG will wear down playing 2 lines.
Totinos pizza rolls are the best though.

I think TG has 3 solid D pairs, some are young but smart and talented. I agree about the forwards though the 3rd line is inconsistent .

I assume you are referring to the last 11 games of the regular season for STA.
Then you are correct gert. But I was referring to last 11 including playoffs. Like had been stated by Watcher.
So to be exact 11 goals in 13 games. 5 came from one game vs HM. So yes let's not give to much credit.
What were the exact number of goals given up by TG in the last 13 games?

The last 11 games they have played in they have 7 shut outs and allowed 1 goal in the other 4. If you want to add more games, fine.
In their last 15 games, they have allowed 16 goals. 1.06 GAA
In TG's last 15 games, they have allowed 45 goals. 3.00 GAA
When they played head to head @TG the final score was 1-0 with shots 28-24, St Thomas outshooting basically 2:1 the first two periods, then Totino-Grace outshooting 2:1 the third period. Should be a good game.

I think Totino has a much better first line. Roo and McDonald are fun to watch. I think the their first line will outscore STA's but its weather or not Totino's 2nd and 3rd lines can hold up STA's because STA has the advantage in depth.
My prediction: 4 to 3 Totino

I believe this game is going to come down to goaltending. My son has played against both Davidowski and Zevnik. Zevnik has a strong mental game and that will be one of his many strengths that will help them beat Grace.
Davidowski hasn't shown any consistancy in all the years I've seen him other than his mental game; once the goals start, the flood gates open. If he doesn't listen to his dad about how great he is, he might have a chance.
I've got STA coming out on top, 5-2.

Careful on the stat sheet review.
They had a mid Jan stretch where they played SSM, Breck, and HM other than that the past 10 - 12 games or so have been against rather weak conference competition. Two that could have caused trouble; Mahtomedi is not all that and Roseau showed they are not all that this year either.
In summary, been a over month since STA has played a worthy opponent.

Ok Marty the compition was not top 20 the last month that is right, but keep in mind one of those teams was TG so I guess we know how you feel about them.
If they had given up 1 or 2 or 3 goals instead of 4, in 11 games, would you be impressed?
The point is they dont give up many goals. Far fewer than TG. If they played Spring Lake Park 8 times they may not give up 8 goals.
Do you really think TG would go to Roseau and give up 0? Roseau may be down for their standards, but they can play. They are every bit as good as TRF and EGF.
Lets look at the total goals given up by both teams
TG gave up 4-TRF, 7-EGF, 5 to Holy Family, 4 to Lourdes, 7 to Hermantown, 5 to Marshall, 6 to BSM twice, 7 to Moundsview, 4 to Breck, 4 to Blake, 8 to SLP all other games 3 or less with 1 shut out.
STA gave up 5 to DE, 5 to HM, 4 to SSM, 3 or less to all others including Edina. 8 total shut outs.
Strength of schedual rating for STA is 30. TG-45.
Any other Stats we should be careful with?
