Boring Section Finals

So far I've been to the 2AA, 3AA, and 6AA finals and they have lacked the tension and excitement of last year's finals (Eagan-Apple Valley, Eden Praire-Wayzata, Maple Grove-Blaine, Hill-White Bear). It was, however, very entertaining to watch BSM play such an outstanding game. Judging from the scores of 1AA and 7AA those finals weren't "nail- biters" either. The finals in 4AA and 5AA don't give me much hope for any cliffhangers either. Hopefully this will result in the best teams at State and a very exciting one-goal State Tournament.

I wouldn't think HM and Roseville will be a barnburner tonight either.

At least it better not be... Hill needs to put tonight's game out of hand fast.

Just have to hope the state tournament makes up for it.

The 1AA game was pretty good until a 5 minute penalty turned it into a route. The same thing happens in the semi final with North and Century.

I have a feeling Blaine is going to make things interesting for MG tonight. I want MG to get there as that should make for an outstanding tournament next week.

Last year was drastically different. White Bear had been a top 15 team all year and had Jensen, Birkinbine, and Wahlin, and Schletty got hot for sections. No real standouts for Roseville's crew and they weren't ranked in the top 20 at all if I'm not mistaken. This game is far different than last year.

I wouldn't write off Roseville completely. They managed to take Wayzata to OT earlier this year, so they've got potential to cause disruption.

The 2AA game was exciting until Edina pulled ahead.

The 2AA game had drama because I think the whole arean new Edina was a better team, but their goalie was a complete wild card, at least in that particular game. You didn't know what would happen anytime the puck was going in the direction of the goal.
Once Hurley scored the goal to make it 5-3, I think most eveyone knew it was checkmate.

The AA sections as a whole have been uninteresting. White Bear got upset in the quarters, but they were no shoe-in to win the section or even make the final. Eden Prairie also got beat in the quarters; that was the only upset of consequence. No triple overtimes. Maybe Hill and Maple Grove should be concerned, although after last year both should be well prepared.
As for Class A, I know little and care even less.
