Alex travels to moorhead tomorrow night. I believe it's the first game of the year for the spuds, and its already Alex's 3rd game of the week. What are some predictions for the outcome?

8-1

This is going to be a blowout 8-1 moorehead, and i might be underestimating. Alex is way down this year and yes moorehead might of lost alot of huge players but they are so deep this one isn't even going to be close.

Where did you hear that Alex is down this year? They really are actually a pretty good team. They are going to be able to keep this one a little closer than 8-1 in my opinion. I am predicting something more like 5-2.

I'd take a 8-1 game in favor of Moorhead. Tech beat them 4-2 and Tech isn't a very great team this year. I wouldn't be surprised if Alex keeps it within 5 or 4 goals because of the fact Moorhead hasn't played a game yet.

Moorhead pretty easy, Alex in an upset. Alex has a better chance than the last few years, but, if they win we know that Moorhead is in trouble with their schedule(the drawbacks of snubbing the local teams to get publicity) however, this isn't likely, Moorhead 5-1....

This should be a good indication of what kind of team Moorhead has. If it is close, it could be a long year for the Spuds. If they win by 4 goals or more, things could be interesting. My prediction is 6-2 Spuds.

What a joke that is. Why don't you tell the truth and say that Moorhead has dropped some closer opponents to play better competition, like Centennial, White Bear, Bloomington Jefferson, etc.? Maybe Alexandria should do the same so they can improve their program.

I never said that wasn't part of it, but lets not forget that it wasn't long ago that a game against DL, FF, Fargo schools, etc, wasn't always a "sure win".........
good for them if they want to be a twin cities team, I sure hope that never happens to my alma matter.......

Go ahead and paint that picture any way you want, as long as it makes you feel better. The bottom line is there's nothing wrong with scheduling tougher competition to make your own program better.

Its also possible these teams no longer wanted to play the spuds, I mean what team wants to be humiliated. If you are a fergus falls or dl do you really want to lose 12-0. I'm not saying its like that all the time but that has been the trend in the last couple of years. They pull away from these teams each year having the margin of victory growing each year. Its not fun to see a team lose by that much. Bottom line is any good coach wants to put their team against good competion but in a way to motivate their kids showing them if they play thier best they can stay in it, but the fact is these teams can no longer compete.

8-2 Moorhead. Alex kept it close, early into the second period it was 2-2. Then Moorhead took over. Moorhead was clearly the better team, but not as strong as last year I don't think. At least not defensively. Still, a good first game for the Spuds.

Who plays goalie for Moorhead? Is it Joe Duncan?

No, Kris Kunde played against Alex and is supposed to play at least the next two games also. But Joe Duncan is their other goalie.
