I was talking to a parent at the stars and strips tourn and herd that there is a 04 team that could compete with a lot of 03 teams out there. A lot of 04 kids that were in the tourn play for the nats.
Any one herd any thing on this team or is this just a clinic they put on?

I heard they lost to miracle gold 04 team in a scrimmage. Compete with 03 teams????

I hear they're all older 04s.

Just looked at the international cup results, team reebok defeated miracle gold for the hardware in the 04 class. Maybe hope of the north may have some other elite competition besides the usual suspects.

I heard from one of the other parents that one of the 04's has already made a verbal commitment to the Gophers. Probably hear some more about this kid over draft weekend.

BTW, the 06's are looking VERY strong.

We played a team yesterday in an 03 tournament that I believe was made up of 04 nats and 04 blades players. Let me tell you they were very skilled players, aggressive and disciplined. It was a very exciting game.

My son played on the other rink during that 03 Championship game on Sunday. We watch a few minutes of the 03 Championship game between MN/WI Select team and Minutemen. I heard from someone at the rink that the Minutemen is strictly a team of 2004 kids playing hockey and just having fun. They opt to play in the 03 tournament because there was no 04 teams. They were alittle small but boy can they skate, pass and play hockey for 2004 kids. They won the International Cup months ago in Plymouth (I googled the Minutemen hockey team last night). I would say they gave that 03 team a run for there money and almost won by looking at the score.

The stickers on the helmets tell me that they were more than a thrown together 04 team. Its not unusual for "all star teams" to be put together and play up in tournaments under a "new team" name.

Like I said before they were very skilled and did give our kids all they could handle. I was very impressed with them all the way around. I think its great to get kids playing against higher competition, and commend they way they competed no matter where they are from.

I heard some good things about the 2004 Reebok Nationals. Is this team going to stick together for next year? How good is this team compared to Machine or Blades?

Talked to parent who had a kid play on the team... they didnt have a goalie for the weekend and were going to pull out. Tourney provided them an 03 and told the team to use the 03 goalie, the team did not do anything unethical like this guy wants people to think...so they played the games instead of pulling out.
Any blame should be on the coach who should of worked harder to find an 04 goalie or just borrow some pads and throw on any of the kids.

Um, a team that is a supposed juggernaut like the '04 Nats should be able to find a goalie somewhere. I don't buy this story.

Who coaches the 04 team? Is this team staying in tact for next season?

Yuro was the coach this past summer.

Most of the 04 are playing for a different team next year from what I was told.

That would come as no surprise with the Nats. Three summers ago my son's 01 team played their 01 team in a tournament and they were using a 00 goalie and 1 00 skater. Other players on our team had played with them in association so it wasn't just a rumor.

Do you know why the 04 kids are leaving Northern Edge program? I heard this was a good group of players.

Leaving? Moving on sounds better. They where 7 & 8 this summer ...

Thanks. Why are the kids moving on? Are they opting to play for Machine and Blades?

Moving on.... Summer is over... So is AAA hockey. Daa

I have not a clue to where they are playing next summer or for what teams.
