What would you say is the hardest rink to win at. Moorhead and Warroad are the first that come to my mind.

I definetly agree with Moorhead thay havn't lost at home since January of 2001 and they have played some great competition there to. With the student section hanging over the boards yelling at the oppossing players it's no wonder they are dominate on home ice.

Definitely agree with Moorhead & Warroad. Must be something to do with nothing else to do up there. <img src=

From what I have heard Jefferson & WBL's fans aren't too bad either. But those can't compare to the nice busride time that Warroad & Moorhead get with people coming in.

<img src=

It's no picnic to play at Elk River.

The Hibbing rink is always a tough place to play at. The crowd definitly gives Hibbing "home ice advantage".

I don't think aldrich is a horrible place to play. The Wbl can get a bit rowdy but with our administration becoming more strict on chants and sportsmanship from fans, I don't think it will be as bad as past years.

Braemar is a tough place to play. Seats are close to the ice and its sort of a small building. It can get loud and the Hornets are always a tough team.

_________________

BOB

Spent many years yelling over the boards at Moorhead. Great place for the players to be able to hear the fans (I know, I recieved many dirty looks and an occsional middle finger).

I would also agree that the excel is a tough place to win because there isn't any crowd involved.

The crowd at the XCEL is there in full force at state, and other than schwan cup, no one plays there. And even the schwan cup draws a fair crowd.

Id have to say warroad also, because they are just good natural home grown talent and no one can compete with that <img src=

Excel

Ill agree with Elliot, the Excel is the hardest rink to play at because whoever plays there at the end of the year has to prove that they belong there. More pressure than many other games during the season. The next in line would be Roseau and then Moorhead. Roseau has a lot of tradition in the walls of that barn and the fans are usually there in full srength. That rink is loud when everyone gets going. Moorhead, well thats about all that needs to be said. A lot of people, great program, great hockey games.

Used to be as a Ram when you step on the ice at home you felt you were already ahead by one and it usually didn't take long and you were. The place was worth one for sure. I believe that attitude was lacking for awhile I think it's coming back. Too bad they don't get to use that home ice advantage like the fifties and sixties for the actual sectionals.

I remember playing my first tourney up in roseau as a pee wee and the goosebumps you get when you walk into that arena. You're intimidated instantly because of all the state championships hanging around, and the pics of guys like the braatens, and butsy.

2 yrs ago, when fergus went up to roseau and won for the first time in who knows how many years. It was such a huge accomplishment because of how hard it was to win there. The fans are loud, and know what buttons to press to get you off your game. And I remembered that I hated where the scoreboard hung because you would never know how much time on PK, PP, etc... unless you were on the bench. Not to mention that the roseau teams were just plain good.
