wouldn't we have to know where they are rated before we can determine if they are under rated?

Underrated. Something or someone that deserves much more respect than people will allow.

Well, I think teams are given respect on how they did last year until they can prove otherwise the new season. How can you say a team is not given respect if they haven't even played yet and all rankings are based on last years results. Now if Holy Angels plays 5games, wins them all yet doesn't move up and said ranking list, then yes they will be under rated.

With section 1AA being very week this year, especially between the two lakevilles, id say any team in the big nine is fair game to potentially make the tourney this year, among the three rochester schools, and also owatonna.

Interesting assumption about Holy Angels. I think it's more a question of how far down and for how long for them. Expectations will always be open to a higher rating as long as we all remember the glory years. Was last year just rebuilding, or are they in a more long-term slump due to recruiting problems? I'd like to see HA start to land some top Minneapolis and St. Louis Park skaters who might otherwise tend to head to BSM. As an outsider it just looks like since the quality of Jefferson programs have been a little bit down (still great, just not top o' the D6 heap), so has Holy Angels struggled to regain old glory. They should be looking for the next Eric Johnson somewhere other than Bloomington, maybe -- and quick before memory fades.

im going to go ahead and say any team from up north with the exception of duluth east would be considered underrated.

New Prague could have been considered in 1A if certain players wouldn't have crapped on their teamates and left them!! Who knows, maybe they'll be better off without em.

Thanks for the info. I saw them as being great contenders in 1A this year, but that definitely is a big hit..
