Minnesota high school goalies playing D-1 hockey

There are 13 Minnesotans playing goalie on NCAA Division I teams this year.

Even though she played at Rochester Lourdes, Michelle Bonapace-Potvin lists her hometown as Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. She is a sophomore at North Dakota.

So on average only 3 girls a year go D1, interesting.

Three MN Goalies started at D1 but are no longer there:
JR - Lauren Joarndt (JR) White Bear/SSM - Harvard left team to focus on School
SO -Tiana Press BSM - Harvard then left team to focus on School
JR - Lyndsey Brown Irondale/MN Thoroughbreds, Moundsview, MN - Ohio State, transfered to D3.

Who are the preseason favorites to be finalists for Sr. goalie of the year?
Shall we expect to see only the goalies from the top teams with the most D1 players in front of them, as in years past?

I'd say Rossman (tonka) and Johnson (EP) are the top two, after that there are some other good candidates, Deters, Helmbrecht, Hartfiel, Sampson, Acheson are a few of the top ones that would be on my list.

I would say HM's goalie should be in the mix. Plays one of the more difficult schedules in the state the last two years, plus no #16 this year. Still has decent numbers.

I see Sydney Rossman (Minnetonka) and Dayton Hilgert (Warroad) as finalist. Watched Hilgert frustrate Edina with 37 saves. Will see Johnson (EP) in the next week and Hilgert again at Kaposia tournament at end of month. A good group to follow.
