Happy:
I would take the 5 seed in a heartbeat! Overall, I feel SSC is down a bit this year due to great Sr's last year.

I'd be worried if I were a Lakeville South fan. I saw one of their leading returning scorers (Lauderdale) in the Elite League and he had a couple of goals during the season after posting 40+pts last year for LVS. I believe that with respect to forwrds, he was last in scoring on his Elite league team which had some very mediocre STA kids on it.. Were his points last year the result of being around Kloos? Where is there O going to come from? Were they a deep team at the young end (JV as well)??. I like their D Jackson but that's about it. Maybe time for a new rep from this section.....BTW I saw Kloos was second in USHL in scoring so he really is the real thing and LVS looses not only him but his ability to raise the games of others.... I saw Hill Murray top LVS last year like 5-2 in L'ville and I don't expect the rematch at Aldrich to be that close without their chosen one....

Hate to agree with anybody from Edina but I agree with the Edina kid.
1 - North gets revenge over South - both marginal teams at best
2 - Edina is a bit too deep with more experience over B'ville
3 - Eagan will be solid with kids stepping out from shadows (Cretin may struggle to get to the #2 spot over East Ridge but leaving the Raiders)
4 - HM generally finds a way with top level coaching
5 - Good crop of Bengals - strong blue collar group
6 - Good recruiting year for BSM with a couple of transfers that will offer marginal help
7 - East finds a way (and a tip of my cap to Karl)
8 - Roseau by a nose and a tribute to a small school that plays with the big boys (hint hint STA)

Lauderdale was helped an awful lot by playing with Kloos - anyone would be - but he's got a chance to be a decent player. I saw a fair amount of him last year, and it seemed like he had a pretty good head for the game.
Losing Wiitala to Waterloo in the USHL just kills South. His leaving early seemed like it might possibly be a reach to me, but it appears he's doing pretty well (three points in two games a couple of weekends ago) - good for him. The level of play in 1AA is such that losing one player like that can make the difference in whether or not South makes it to state again.

In fairness to LS its important to realize that while there is an assumption that its a big suburban program with good numbers, that really isn't the case. Most years this group could only support maybe 4 youth teams as peewees and only 3 at bantams. The net result is that when you lose a Kyle Osterberg , Clint Lewis , Eric Rutt and now Wiitala its very difficult to replace them. No need to discuss the reasons for leaving...we've beaten that to death...It likely will be a few lean years for the cougars.

I regret putting AHA in the finals and I'd put BSM over Tonka now
