Didn't even offer my prediction. I think this one will be close to the wire with the Toppers winning 4-3.

I didn't think they would stoop low enough to play single A teams?!

Is Jake Bischoff playing? Or is he still having concussion issues? Even without him I will take Rapids in a barnburner 4-3. Marshall is a solid A team though.

Went up to Rapids and watched the game. Marshall outplayed Rapids the first one and a half periods. Had two shots hit the post and missed an open net on a 2v1. 2nd period got chippy, lots of penalties, and stupid penalties out of frustration on Marshall's behalf to take. The size of the Thunderhawks began to show itself midway through the second period and they started to take over after that. Started winning nearly every face off in the Marshall zone and it was only a matter of time before they scored their second goal (which came with 5 minutes left in the 3rd). Marshall is young, very young and they are small but they are very, very good. I expect a deep run come this March. They have lots of talent and are pretty deep. It is also worth mentioning that in the 3rd period, another Marshall shot hit the pipe. This game could have been different, but, alas, that is why they play the games. Rapids has a good team as well and will give East and Elk River all they can handle in 7AA.

Also, the IRA Civic Center is an awesome, awesome hockey arena! One of my favorites of all the arenas that I have been to. Great atmosphere, great fans, although the student section was very quiet throughout the whole game which was rather disappointing.

IRA Civic Center-One of best barns in the state, no doubt!
