Just read this. Congrats to an excellent hockey player. Very good 24 hrs for the Sioux. Very surprised he didn't end up at the U.

2 uncles and a dad (I believe) played for the U. Props to the kid though for making his own decisions. Very very dynamic player.

Great Kid, Great Choice!
Even as a Gopher fan I would not want to go there right now, it seems a little messy over in Gopher nation.
His style perfectly fits UND!

I didn't know he had a history of attacking guys in the handshake line or underage drinking.

Great family, great kid!
I wish him success no matter who he plays for or against at the next level. In my opinion, one one the most enjoyable players to watch in recent memory.

Has to be even more disappointing for St. Cloud State!
Just borrowing this post from the Poganski thread.

If missing Poganski is "disappointing" to the Huskies, I think there must be a stronger word for how the Gophers feel about missing Gersich. ;)

Which one did you decide not to count?! It's not like Paul Broten was the 5th Beatle.

Are we sure the Gophers offered him a scholarship? Just asking because I don't know...

Gersich said he is relieved to have the decision out of the way. He said the choice came down to Minnesota or North Dakota, and that making the call to Gophers coach Don Lucia to break the news, “was very tough.”

Tell the kid to invest in some boots and thick socks....don't walk across UND campus barefoot.......

Yes.
Thanks. Hope the Gophers losing both him and Poganski isn't the start of a trend.

They can offer a scholarship anytime. They can't initiate contact at that age though, so they usually go through the HS coach.
