7-2 now. Denfeld looks like a team on a mission.
Considering they were 0-12-1 in their last thirteen games against the Toppers and hadn't won since 1/11/2000, no wonder!

I hope denfeld makes it down to the X this year. I think they are a little under rated but hold their own very well. Wether it's bitterness ( being from East ) or a northland team, I really wanna see them against sta, win or lose at least its not marshall again. this seems like the year they could actually do it too.

Hibbing defeats I-Falls 8-3. Nice section win for the Bluejackets.

Last time I actually watched Marshall, Connolly was there and that first line reminded me of easts 1st line last year. Maybe not as talented but an extremely fun line to watch.

I'd enjoy seeing Denfeld at State too, just for the novelty. They're certainly playing well enough to deserve a trip, and it looks like they've earned the top seed in their section for the first time in my lifetime. They'd have half a shot at getting seeded, too.
As they mentioned on the TV broadcast, that "zero wins against Marshall since 2000" is somewhat misleading, as they beat Marshall as Duluth Central the year that Denfeld was closed for renovations--some of the kids on the ice have actually been part of a previous win over the Toppers. Still, I wasn't expecting a win this big--huge night for Talarico and his line tonight, though I'm sure the Marshall D would like to just pretend most of this one never happened.

What is up with HM allowing numerous goals to lower CSC teams? They have allowed more goals to NSP and Mahtomedi than
any other team in the state this year...

Hermantown 4 Cloquet 1...unofficial SOG Htown 35 Cloquet 22... turning point was 2nd period where Cloquet took some dumb penalties and Goalie Smith from Hermantown made a "highlight reel" save on Beau Michaud with the score 2-1. I think Hermantown outshot Cloquet 17-4 in the 2nd after a 1-1 1st period where Cloquet came out strong and led 1-0, but shots were even 9-9 after 1. Score was 3-1 after 2.

Considering it was 8-2 going into the third, I imagine HM's 3rd and 4th lines saw A LOT of ice time. Any respectable coach lets off the gas a little when overwhelming an inferior opponent.
