Gopher Hockey Festival?

Had a friend tell me his son was asked to play in the Gopher Hockey festival in Mar. @ Blaine Super Rink. He felt it was a pretty big deal but I had not heard of it. Is this a big deal or just another tourney for kids from Select 16/17's and last years Elites (He played both)? Who/How do they pick the kids and is it based on this years HS hockey season? His kids good but didnt have a outstanding season this year, so just looking for some background. Told him thats great & hope his kid enjoys it (I guess?)
