Should be an interesting section, for the first time in a few years neither Lakeville team has Skjei, Lindgren, Kloos, etc that really ate up the Rochester teams. The SSC is night and day ahead if the Big Nine and that will probably be the difference in the end as no one in the section outside of Lakeville really did much outside of the Big Nine. John Marshall maybe the hottest team, Mayo's loss to West bothers me some, and maybe all that went on in Farmington served as a release and the Tigers will play better for it.
The weather may play a factor as we're supposed to get a pretty significant snowstorm Thursday, the last time that happend teams had to play back to back games. None of the Rochester teams have a lot of depth.

Mayo had better play 3 periods, they played 2 against a pretty poor Century team and were only up by 1 after 2 periods.
The Farmington/ JM game suprised me but then again when your goalie is more concerned about getting a life size face tattoo on his butt 2 days before game day maybe it shouldn't.

OK I'll go ahead and say it here. This section is a complete embarassment to post season high school hockey in THE STATE of HOCKEY. Obviously this isn't a knock on the kids as they have no control over the section placements. That being said, who is responsible for the continuance of this debacle? How can there not be an uproar? Every kid in Minnesota dreams of getting to the tourney and for about 5 years now, the Lakeville teams are given a complete freebie? The #1 seed is 8-16-1 and there isn't some movement to get it right?? I don't get it at all. Oh so maybe its the old "geographic" argument? Put Burnsville in it, they are south of the river and directly next to Lakeville, or Eagan or Prior Lake....How about Apple Valley? How about Benilde? How about Eden Praire? How about Edina? It's a complete joke, 8-16-1 says it all! How about a real discussion about this??

1AA is down this year, no question. However 1AA is 4-2 the last 2 years, only 6AA has been better. Going back to 2007 1AA has been better than 5AA and pretty close to everyone but 6AA in winning percentage. Also Apple Valley, who is a #7 seed just won in 3AA beating the SEC's top team, AV was behind both Lakeville teams.
So say what you want it's your opinion, but the facts the past couple of years don't support you.

This thread isn't to argue about section alignments. The dead horse has been beaten over and over about this topic.
I completely agree with your statement though. The section has been weak for a long time and something needs to be done but to this point nothing has been done.

Shots were 49-25 in favor of Farmington and you take a shot at the goalie?

A simple fact bears repeating: the #1 seed after 25 games has a record of 8-16-1! In every other section this would be a 6 seeding at best, most likely a #7 or #8. It's completely embarassing that this isnt fixed. Put Bvlle in the Section just to prove that everyone isn't a complete idiot here....its completely ridiculous the way it stands.

Moorhead is 12-12 and is a 1 seed in section 8.... go troll that thread... a year ago this section had the best player in the state and beat the best team in the state in the first round of the tourny... this year has been a down year but it hasnt been the case tthe past 5

So based on Moorhead being 12-12 we can't agree that it would be a simple and effective solution to put Burnsville and/or Prior Lake in section 1AA?
