Any one on here cheering for Duluth East considering they are almost a private school?

Besides the obvious two.

There is a huge difference between private schools and Duluth east.
Talk about things up in brainerd or bemidji or whereever you are from and leave Duluth hockey to Karl.

Ahhhh, I get it.
You think 'private school' has a bad connotation to it.

Against Cloquet or GR? No. But last year I WAS disappointed that they didn't take state. They're in a larger metro area which gives them advantages that many outstate schools don't have. Do they play by the rules? I think so. Do the rules suck? I think so.

Meh no need to get picky .. Bemidjis up, Brainard is down, ... right?? Ah well they both start with B and are in the middle of nowhere, which is the section you should probably worry about..

Seeing I grew up as a REGION 7 guy I still have a bit of interest there.
And since the DEAST principle is one of my best friends and Lee and I get along okay; I think I will still be concerned about section 7....
and section 3A.

Not a fan of East but you have to respect them for the success the program has had for a long time now. Randolph love em or hate em gets the most out of his teams. The single A teams like Cloquet and Rapids are no match for Duluth East and should play where they belong down in single A level. Hermantown and Marshall would be good replacements in section 7AA

Reminds me of a chant the Hibbing fans attending the East-Hibbing section final in basketball way back in '75 did; "Push em in the lake, push em in the lake". Which was exactly what the Kevin McHale led Bluejackets did that night.

Grand Rapids will never play single A.

Cloquet and Hermantown have very close to the same enrollment size. Hermantown can enjoy their Single A success all they want but cloquet and rapids would rather lose the 7AA play-in game every year than under achieve and succeed in Class A.

I always have a soft spot n my heart for the "almost private" schools.

Go East....Tonka....Edina...others who hope to become private!!

Parents get off the fence and start sending tuition to the schools in addition to the coaches.

Grand Rapids finished 2nd in state in 06 and 07 and have a very good showing when they make it to state. I don't think try will be going class A any time soon

I don't know the dynamics of how many players the teams gets from the E-C of C-E-C, but Cloquet HS and Hermantown HS are similarly sized.

I believe a couple of their better players are from the Esko part of the equation. Kuhlman for one.
