Section 3AA final: #1 Eagan vs. #3 Eastview 2/28

Because every section final deserves it's own thread (ok, maybe not 1AA, but you know what I mean).
It's Zach Glienke et al. vs. Zach Driscoll.
It's 64 saves vs. a bad ear infection (or so we've been told).
It's Thursday night at the Coliseum. Maybe hockeyhub will think it's worth a spotlight?

In my opinion, it looks like a 3rd straight trip to the X for Eagan. (3rd... right?)
Eastview pulled off an upset in the first meeting (4-2); however, the real Eagan showed up in their second meeting defeating Eastview (7-1).
6-2 Eagan.

Its hard to imagine any possible scenario in which Eagan coughs this one up. Scoring goes to Wildcats. Defense goes to Wildcats. Goaltending to Lighting. Would be a good game to watch at any arena in the State except the morgue known as the Coliseum. Snooze fest. The drive to Duluth to see East versus Grand Rapids would be a better use of time.

HORRIBLE place for a horse show let alone a hockey game.
Going out on a limb here, Eastview goalie STEALS THE GAME 3-2 !!!
In My Humble Opinion.

The only way Eagan loses this one is too many penalties, which is always a possibility for this team.

I don't think Hockey Hub has much love, knowledge or interest in 3AA. Was listening to Loren Nelson on the radio and he didn't know much about the teams down here. He admitted to only watching 2 games (both Eagan vs Burnsville games) this season, so I wouldn't bank on a spotlight. Thank God for Hockey Day

Actually Eagan has really cleaned up their penalty issues they had early in the year for the most part. Driscoll is the ONLY thing that stands between Eagan and State and I highly doubt he can duplicate his first meeting performance again. Eagan wins 5-1 and plays Edina in the night cap on Thursday.

Much as I'd love to see that, odds are slim that actually happens. For that to happen, 5 instances would have to proceed it;
1.) Hill Murray would have to win Section 4AA (roughly 90% chance that happens)
2.) BSM has to beat Wayzata (roughly 50% chance that happens)
3.) Duluth East would have to beat Grand Rapids (roughly 60% chance that happens)
4.) Eagan would have to beat Eastview (roughly 75% chance that happens)
5.) Edina would have to beat Burnsville (roughly 50% chance that happens)
Those 5 events would place #4 Eagan vs #5 Edina in the Thursday nightcap.
So .90 X .50 X .60 X .75 X .50 = .101, so only a 10.1% chance that Eagan plays Edina in that game. A whopping 90% chance that the 4 vs 5 game is a different matchup

OMG, my calculator is melting down.
As always, LOVE all the analysis Scorekeeper. Keep it coming. This is the best time of the year and it's just THOSE 'what ifs' that make it SO fun!

Well, judging by tonight's results, it doesn't look like Edina v Eagan is going to be the late game.

C'mon Driscoll. We need another big night from you. Trust me when I say everyone outside of Eagan is rooting for you! Feel the love!

So D3 you want a sub par team in the State Tourney?? Outside of Driscoll Eastview is TERRIBLE, why would you want a team like that in the tourney?? Eagan is head and shoulders better than them and I fully expect the game to be more like the second game played between the two than the first because no way Driscoll can repeat that performance again. So you would rather have your team walk thru a weak field to the Championship than earn it like other Champions by beating the top teams?? Clearly Wayzata will come into the tourney as a favorite to win it all, I hardly think you need to root for weaker teams to make the field, but hey if thats how you want it.

Nice try Chuckles.
A great man once said, "it's not the best teams, it's the right teams". We know the State's best 8 teams won't be there. They never are. So we'll have to settle, as we do every year, for all 8 section champions being there, regardless of who they are.
Why would Wayzata be the favorite to win it all? We are the lowly 5 seed ... unless of course, Lightning strikes twice and your Cats get fried ... then of course, we are the 4 seed and likely get Centennial on Thursday night.
As I said, have a good game Zach! (Driscoll that is) The whole State (except for Eagan) is rooting for you!

Is that streaming video as well? Or is it audio with the animated game sheet?

I don't know about placing BSM and "best" together. Wayzata won 2 out of 3 of their match-ups this year.
Now Blaine on the other hand is a quality example...7-0 and 6-1 winners over Champlin earlier this year.

Goin for Eagan. Won't be dissatisfied with Eastview HS

I was not specifically talking about the matchup between BSM and Wayzata.. I guess the consistent ranking between 1-3 all year has nothing to say.. what I am saying is not the best or the most talented or best team with the most talent GOES to State.. that is it nothing more..

Eastview does not have a chance in the easiest section in the state.

Easiest for whom?
Let's say that you're....Bemidji....and Paul Bunyon offers to pluck you up by the school district and drop you down into a different section. You really think that they'd have a harder time getting past the two Lakeville Teams in 1AA than Eagan and/or Eastview in 3AA?
