WELL Done, David (Luverne)

Kudo's out to Luverne's PeeWee A's on an excellent season and beating Mankato 6-1, last night. Certainly a David vs Goliath deal with Luverne's population being 4500 and Mankato's at 45,000.
Kudo's to the Luverne Hockey Club for fielding an A and B team at each level that there's even a remote possibility to do so. I know at times it's painful for them to do so.
9 Skaters and a single goalie, Coached by a true Hockey "Mind" can be successful when supported by the right program.
A special Thank You to "Paco" for investing his time to Coach them. Well done!

Sounds impressive.
I do not know who they are, but, that is what MN Hockey is all about. Good luck to Luverne.

They also beat Rochester this morning, 6-5 but needed an Overtime to do it.
I THINK Rochester has a few more than 4500 people in their town too!
Congrats again!

Great job !! Forest Lake could learn a lesson from them. As far as that goes, WBL/Stillwater going AA/B they should be embarresed.

What makes the Luverne feat even more impressive is I have been told the top Luverne Pee Wee moved up to play Bantam this year. Was told (By Locals I go to many High School games in the area throughout the winter) this kid is very good some consider him the top player at 2000 age group. He won the Brick MVP a few years back while playing for the Blades.
Think if this kid was on their team which by age he should. Luverne would be even that much more dangerous. Neat little story out of SW MN.
Its too bad they have terrible coaching at the High School level sounds like they have some talent down there at the younger levels. If they actually got a "hockey" mind at the high school level the program could take off but right now their coaches ruin talent.. Too bad.

PeeWeeA's lost the first game this morning to an energetic and deep Sartell team to back themselves up to the wall. At 4PM they played Rochester again and won 7-2 to advance along with Sartell to STATE. Congrats to all! Excellent effort!

Congrats to Luverne for taking the first step at State by besting Cottage Grove 1-0.
