Congrats to Jake Bischoff for being selected as the inaugural winner of the Reed Larson Award given to the state's best senior defenseman. The award is based on a number of factors: academics, community and extracurricular activities, citizenship, coachability, and on-ice performance. He is a great player and class act on and off the ice, congrats and best wishes!

The other finalists for the award were Ryan Bittner (Crookston), Tony Bretzman (St. Thomas Academy), Chris Forney (Thief River Falls), Matt Koch (Hastings), Meirs Moore (Duluth East), Matt Nelson (Edina), Tanner Okeson (Roseau), Parker Reno (Edina), Jimmy Schuldt (Minnetonka), Tommy Vannelli (Minnetonka) and Jake Zeleznikar (Hermantown).

Great Hockey player. Unfortunately a lot of people didn't get to see him play in HS with GR being in 7AA. I will never forget his performance against East his soph year. Easily best player on the ice. Best of luck at the U.
