If you hate the Blades, don't click below *haha*
The '02 Blades are headed to the Motor City this weekend to play in the Hockey City Challenge. I write a very pro-Minnesota article. I will provide updates as they come in.

It's important the realize that every team they are playing at "the beginning" of their season. In some cases 1st game of the year.
Agree, the boys should run through day 1. However, really looking forward to any match ups with mission, Caesars and Syracuse. That will be the real indicator for these Boys.
Good luck. MN about to show what"the state of hockey" is all about.

THanks Mack.
Their first game was re-scheduled to this evening. NJ had some travel issues.

A small inaccuracy in your article:
You mention certain teams and that those teams are all ranked in the top 10 nationally. Well, THIS YEARS rankings are not due out until September 25th so technically none of these teams are ranked anywhere yet. Is it a safe bet the Mission will be ranked in the top 10 (or more like top 5) sure, that seems like common sense if you ask my opinion, but there is tons of movement in Tier 1 AAA hockey, and this age group specifically you can't go by last years results at all, thus last years teams are NOT this years teams Tier 1 AAA wise, so as of right now most of those teams have not played yet and none are ranked anywhere YET.....
Second, where are you finding the schedules etc.... as of right now the tourney website doesn't have anything on it so I was just curious

So they lose a game and you delete the links to the schedule and results? Lame.

According to parent in attendance, website is wrong. Blades won 5-1 over CYA.

They didn't lose. And I didn't delete the link.
If you read our site, you will see that they won and who scored.
I have no idea how or why the link was removed. Karl?

We will update to this link with updates on their progress.
Hey Barry,
Thanks for re-posting the missing link.

That's very odd. I saw your earlier post, but I haven't deleted anything today. I'll look into it, though I'm not sure what there is to be done.

So the goalie was ruled ineligible, and the backup had never played in a game before?

Suffice to say your post will make Karl's trash bin.
I'm just waiting for Rod Serling to jump on here and explain some of this as the twilight zone.
If I get any more news on the topic, I will pass it on.

Wow. I don't know what is more commendable or surprising. The '02 Blades commitment to winning or Mr. Tony's commitment to the '02 Blades!
Best AAA team in the state? I think the 2000 Machine would respectfully disagree. Geez.
Instead of a puff piece of free advertising for the Blades, maybe you should do some real writing, and conjure up an award-winning investigative piece on their practices of winning at all costs. Dig into why they will not be invited back to Winnipeg next year because of their commitment to head contact and running other players. Dig into why they need a Canadian goaltender this year, not to mention that kid from wherever last year. 'Scony boy as their best player. They really do an awesome job coaching up the penalty kill. I'm not kidding!
You could really earn some respect with some good reporting and research. But you continue to remind all of Ace Ventura when he approaches the Dolphins autograph tables with the AFC championship ring marks all over his face.

These boys just ran through a tournament representing at least 3 teams rank in the top 5 of USA tier I AAA teams. (And all teams rank easily in the top 20).........Give them the credit they are due.
CONGRATS BOYS!
